WASHINGTON, DC: On Thursday, March 19, 2026, the White House announced that under President Donald Trump's leadership 'Operation Epic Fury' witnessed "overwhelming success."

They said that despite the "fake news" campaign and efforts by the "radical left" to distract from the “historic” victory against Iran, the American people and Trump’s supporters "stand firmly behind our warriors and their Commander-in-Chief" to work to accomplish the mission.

The White House website also shared polling data showing strong support for the operation. Reports from CNN, NBC News, YouGov, and TargetPoint reflected similar numbers. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed these figures.

"Americans agree that Operation Epic Fury is an overwhelming success," Leavitt wrote on X alongside a link to the White House's report.

Trump first announced 'Operation Epic Fury' on February 28, 2026, after the US and Israel launched joint airstrikes in different locations across Iran. The mission has been underway for more than 20 days.

'Operation Epic Fury' wins strong support across the country

Polls shared by the White House show that 'Operation Epic Fury' is very popular, especially among President Trump’s supporters. Vandenberg Coalition/TargetPoint found that 94 per cent of MAGA supporters and 84 per cent of all Republicans support it.

NBC News reported 90 per cent of MAGA Republicans and almost 80 per cent of all Republicans back the mission. CNN says 88 per cent of MAGA Republicans and 77 per cent of all Republicans approve of the strikes on Iran.

The Economist and YouGov found that 87 per cent of MAGA Republicans and 81 per cent of all Republicans like how President Trump handled the situation. Another YouGov poll shows 85 per cent of MAGA Republicans support the US action. JL Partners found 83 per cent of Republicans support the operation, and only 9 per cent oppose it.

Many Americans beyond Trump’s supporters also approve of the operation. The Washington Post says support has grown as the mission succeeds. Rasmussen Reports found 61 per cent of Americans think the operation is going well. Fox News shows more than six-in-ten Americans see Iran as a serious threat. Overall, most Americans believe the mission is a success.

Despite citing results of multiple polls, Leavitt's post received a community note from X. "The White House’s polls mentioned in the link only refers to MAGA Republicans or Republicans being in favor of the war, not the broader American public," the note read.

"This excludes Democrats and Independents being polled which skews the data and misrepresents America’s views as a whole," it further added.

Trump has been actively overseeing the strikes on Iran since February 28. He explained that the main goal of the operation is to prevent Iran from using its nuclear assets. The US-Israel strike on Iran also killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei alongside other Iranian officials.

Recently, the Justice Department reported that a cyberattack allegedly planned by the Iranian government was successfully stopped on Thursday, March 19.

In other developments, Trump met with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi in the Oval Office. During the meeting, a Japanese reporter asked why the US had not informed its allies, including Japan, about the strikes on Iran in advance. The reporter said that the Japanese government was “very confused” by the lack of prior notice.

"Well, one thing, you don't want to signal too much, you know?" Trump responded. "When we go in, we went in very hard. And we didn't tell anyone about it because we wanted surprise. Who knows better about surprise than Japan? Why didn't you tell me about Pearl Harbor? Okay? Right?"
