Eric Trump shows off new US passport featuring dad Donald's portrait
WASHINGTON, DC: Eric Trump has given his followers a look at a very unusual version of the new US passport.
The 42-year-old businessman showed off his commemorative passport in a video posted to X on Tuesday, September 2, revealing that it features a full-size portrait of his father, President Donald Trump.
The passport is part of a limited-edition design created for the United States' 250th anniversary. After holding it up to the camera, Eric opened the passport and showed the portrait inside before sharing his reaction to the design.

“Look at what just came in the mail,” Eric said in the video. “A new passport.”
He then opened the document, revealing an illustration of Donald Trump leaning forward with both knuckles resting on a desk. Donald's signature appears above the words “United States of America.”
The portrait is based on Donald Trump's picture at the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery in Washington.
Eric, who is the son of Donald Trump and his late ex-wife Ivana Trump, appeared pleased with the design.
“I absolutely love it,” he said.
The limited-edition passports were first announced in April. At the time, officials said the special travel document would only be available through the Washington Passport Agency.
Donald Trump passport design changed since April
The commemorative passport has gone through several design changes since its initial announcement.
In a June 26 Truth Social post, Donald Trump shared an updated version of the planned passport design.
He wrote, “The USA’s New Passport, which says, ‘Welcome, but be good!’ President DJT.”
Another noticeable change was the color of Donald Trump's signature.
While the version shown in the original announcement featured a gold signature, the updated design has it in black.
State Department spokesperson Tommy Pigott previously confirmed that only a “limited number of specially designed passports” would be released for the 250th anniversary.
“These passports will feature customized artwork and enhanced imagery while maintaining the same security features that make the US Passport the most secure document in the world,” Pigott said.
The special passport is also not expected to cost more than a regular US passport.
Donald Trump also appears on national park passes
The commemorative passport is not the only item being changed for the 250th anniversary.
The Department of the Interior previously announced that Donald Trump would appear on new annual passes for US national parks.
The ‘America the Beautiful’ resident pass also marks the anniversary and features portraits of Donald Trump and George Washington.
The national park passes have also drawn attention over rules surrounding alterations.
In January, The Washington Post and SFGate reported that the Department of the Interior had updated its “Void if Altered” policy for 2026 to prohibit changes or coverings on the passes.
An internal email reportedly instructed National Park Service staff to ask visitors to remove stickers from their cards.
If a covering could not be removed, visitors could be charged for a day pass or a replacement.
