WASHINGTON, DC: Marking the fifth anniversary of the January 6 Capitol riot, President Donald Trump’s White House unveiled a provocative new website on Tuesday, January 6, aimed at forcefully challenging the dominant narrative surrounding the events of 2021.

The site, launched directly by the administration, reframes January 6 not as an insurrection by Trump supporters but as a coordinated political operation by Democrats. It alleges that the Democratic Party, aided by former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), federal agencies, and media allies  engineered the true assault on democracy by certifying what it calls a “fraud-ridden” 2020 election and weaponizing the aftermath to crush dissent.

At the center of the website is a blunt assertion: the real insurrection, it argues, was not the breach of the Capitol but the formal certification of the 2020 presidential election.

“In truth, it was the Democrats who staged the real insurrection by certifying a fraud-ridden election, ignoring widespread irregularities, and weaponizing federal agencies to hunt down dissenters,” the site declares.

The administration accuses Democrats of deliberately “reversing reality,” portraying “peaceful patriotic protesters” as violent extremists while using a “gaslighting narrative” to justify sweeping prosecutions, surveillance, and political censorship. According to the website, January 6 became a tool to “persecute innocent Americans, silence opposition, and distract from their own role in undermining democracy.”

Law enforcement actions placed at center

A substantial portion of the site is devoted to the conduct of US Capitol Police, which the administration describes as contradictory and inflammatory. The timeline highlights moments when officers appeared to remove barricades, open doors, and gesture demonstrators inside the building.

“Video evidence shows officers inexplicably removing barricades, opening Capitol doors, and even waving attendees inside the building,” the website states, while also accusing police of deploying force selectively against others.

The White House argues these actions, not premeditated violence  escalated the situation, transforming what it describes as a peaceful demonstration into disorder. The site flatly rejects the claim that the crowd arrived with insurrectionary intent.

Trump’s speech framed as explicit call for peaceful and patriotic protest

The website offers a detailed defense of President Trump’s January 6 speech at the Ellipse, portraying it as a forceful but lawful call to civic action. The timeline emphasizes Trump’s use of the phrase “peacefully and patriotically,” arguing that it undercuts claims he incited violence.

The speech is described as urging supporters to fight for the country “through strength and determination,” while explicitly rejecting violence. According to the site, the crowd’s response was defined by “massive enthusiasm,” not rage or aggression.

Media, Pelosi, and Pence singled out

Beyond law enforcement, the site aggressively targets former Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the media, and former Vice President Mike Pence. Sections labeled “Ashli Babbitt Murdered in Cold Blood” and “Mike Pence Refuses to Act” frame Pence’s certification of the election as a decisive betrayal of voters.

The media is also squarely in the crosshairs. One section accuses the BBC of airing “doctored” footage of Trump’s speech to misrepresent its tone and intent, while casting broader coverage as complicit in constructing a false historical record.
