WASHINGTON, DC: A newly formed political group, 'Evangelicals For Harris', has released its second ad, taking direct aim at former President Donald Trump by questioning whether he is a "false prophet."

David Brody, a veteran anchor at the Christian Broadcasting Network, first broke the news about the Pro-Kamala Harris group's inaugural ad last week, which also scrutinized Trump for his refusal to seek forgiveness from God.

David Brody took to X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, August 19, to report on the group's provocative new spot, saying, "Evangelicals For Harris Use ‘False Prophet’ Bible Passage in Provocative New Ad Against Trump."

"Evangelicals For Harris is releasing their second media spot in as many weeks, this time using biblical text in 1 John 4 that mentions false prophets and how Christians are to, ‘test the spirits to see if they are from God," he further elaborated. "The implication and context are pretty clear: they want Evangelicals to ask themselves if Trump fits the characteristics of a false prophet. Watch it below."

What is 'Evangelicals for Harris'?

'Evangelicals for Harris' is an organization made up of Evangelical Christians who are mobilizing support in key states for Vice President Kamala Harris this November.

The group's mission is clear: to peel away voters from Trump’s strong evangelical base.

Brody noted in his original reporting, “Specifically and most interestingly, Evangelicals For Harris will be targeting conservative Christian media websites. This is NOT just a play for liberal Christians. The group already has over 200,000 Evangelical Christians who have signed a pledge to volunteer and vote for the Harris/Walz ticket."

With the release of Monday’s ad, Brody emphasized, “No doubt going to ruffle some conservative evangelical feathers.”

The ad campaign has ignited a fierce theological debate within the Christian community. “Those who support Trump see him as someone promoting biblical values when it comes to policy."

"They’ll also mightily argue that it’s actually the Christian Left that is spreading a false presentation of the biblical message,” Brody argued.

"However, Evangelicals For Harris is urging Christian voters to reassess what they believe is a rhetoric that is void of 'Christian Witness' and completely devoid of the, 'Love Thy Neighbor' Biblical Commandment."

Netizens divided on on 'Evangelicals For Harris' ad campaign

The latest ad from 'Evangelicals For Harris' has sparked a wave of backlash on social media.

"David I respect you but you have been promoting this group a lot lately. Why not expose what they truly believe in and how this group doesn’t talk about Harris Anti-Christian politics? That being said Trump does need to reach out to Christians voters more," a user tweeted.

"American Evangelicalism has kicked Jesus out for a new Messiah. A golden one, even," said a second.

"If they're for Harris they're not evangelicals," added a third.

"Trump does not claim to speak on behalf of God. He also doesn't advocate for the murder of innocent babies. This is the biggest grift in a while," read a tweet.

"They missed the “I am the chosen one” statement he made!" penned a user.

"Nothing like aborting babies and gay sex while calming the moral high-ground, to gather up all those Christian votes," chimed a user.

"The premise is false. No Republican thinks Trump is a prophet or even perfect. You don’t even have to love Trump to vote Trump since it’s clear whatever Kamala has planned is dangerous for the country and our families," said a user.

"There's an Evangelicals for Harris? Beyond parody," added another.
