GUILIN, CHINA: Jenna Wang, a 59-year-old Chinese woman, has alleged that she engaged in a romantic relationship with Tim Walz in 1989 during his tenure as a teacher in China.

Wang has claimed to be the daughter of Bin Hui, a former high-ranking official of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) who passed away in 1999, according to a report by the Daily Mail. Hui served as the chairman of a CCP-affiliated labor union in Guilin, a city in China.

The report characterizes her as 'highly educated' and notes that she was an English teacher.

Jenna Wang experienced emotional distress after her breakup with Tim Walz

At the age of 25, Tim Walz began a romantic relationship with Jenna Wang, who was one year younger than him, according to Wang's statements in the report.

Wang revealed to the New York Post in a phone interview on Monday, October 28, that she had completely fallen for the current Minnesota governor back when he was a young high school English teacher in Foshan, Guangdong Province, China.

Wang thought the intense 1989 relationship would end with a proposal, but instead, it ended in a split that allegedly led her to think about ending her own life.

“I was deeply insulted, hurt and I had to leave that place, because many people knew that we had a relationship,” Wang clarified that Walz had hinted at his intention to propose marriage to her.

She mentioned that this included sending letters to Wang after returning to the US during the subsequent summer and even requesting a passport-sized photo from her to be sent to Denver, suggesting that Walz was assisting her in obtaining a visa.

“His lack of character, as a man, a responsible person who had worked in education or [the] military,” she added. “I thought he also loved me. I loved him.”

Wang claimed she escaped China for Italy a few years following her doomed romance with Walz.

Jenna Wang issues warning about Tim Walz in open letter

In an open letter, Jenna Wang also sought to alert the American electorate about Tim Walz, stating that initially, they were "like husband and wife," sharing tea and holding hands away from her father Bin Hui's vigilant gaze, a labor union leader in Guilin, her hometown.

Hui would have disapproved of his daughter's relationship with a Westerner, Wang disclosed.

Now 60, Walz traveled to China via the nonprofit WorldTeach, where he formed a connection with Wang, who was teaching at a neighboring middle school.

The young couple delighted in karaoke sessions, with Walz lavishing Wang with presents such as gold jewelry and high-waisted blue jeans.

However, he transformed into “the type of man against whom a mother warns her daughter not to get involved” according to Wang's open letter.

“While, it is true, you had not promised marriage before you had arrived back in China, marriage was what I had assumed,” she wrote. “Too, marriage was what you had led me to believe—as well as led others to believe, including that female colleague of yours with whom we had tea.”

Jenna Wang reflects on Tim Walz's character and their past relationship

Jenna Wang stated that there was a disagreement about whether her feelings for Tim Walz were genuine or if she was just seeking a visa. She expressed surprise at this, noting that she had been prepared to leave her entire life in China to be with Walz in Nebraska.

“I was giving it up to be with Tim, to get married and start a family,” Wang spoke to the Daily Mail. “Knowing now that he wasn’t going to marry me made me feel cheap and common, as if I was being treated like a pros****te.”

Although they never reunited, Walz went back to China in 1993 to lead an annual summer program that linked Nebraska and Minnesota high school students with Chinese educational institutions.

The governor of the Land of 10,000 Lakes married his wife, Gwen Whipple, the year following his return to the US.

According to his wife, the Walzes wanted to "have a date he'll always remember," so they got married on June 4, the fifth anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre.

“Tim lied about Tiananmen Square and he’s lied about other things,” Wang told the Daily Mail. “This is a very crucial moment in history and a man like this does not appear to have the character and integrity to do one of the most important jobs in the world.”
