MANASSAS, VIRGINIA: Gwen Walz made her solo campaign debut to support her husband Tim Walz and Vice President Kamala Harris by ripping into their Republican opponent JD Vance.

The Minnesota first lady, who was an English teacher, attacked the Ohio Senator for his remarks in a recently resurfaced video where he accused a teachers' union leader of being childless.

Reminiscing her teaching days, Walz put on her glasses and used her English teacher voice to offer a scathing rebuke to Vance while speaking at the Educators for Harris-Walz event in Manassas, Virginia, on Friday, August 30, The Daily Beast reported

"For a long time Tim and I were teachers who struggled with infertility and we were only able to start a family because of fertility treatment,"  Walz said. "So this is really personal for me, and I think it is for millions of Americans."

To a cheerful crowd, she continued, "So let me use my teacher voice."

"English teachers, you know what these babies are for," Walz said, before adding, "Mr Vance, how about you mind your own business?"

Speaking at a Christian forum in 2021, Vance criticized the American Federation of Teachers president Randi Weingarten for not having a "single child".

In the recently unearthed video, the GOP vice president candidate said, "Randi Weingarten, who's the head of the most powerful teachers' union in the country, she doesn't have a single child. If she wants to brainwash and destroy the minds of children, she should have some of her own and leave ours the hell alone."

Weingarten responded to the attack, calling it "nonsensical," and noted that she views herself as a mother through her marriage to her wife's two biological children.

After he was picked by Donald Trump as a running mate, Vance found himself in hot water for another video where he attacked the prominent democratic women, including Vice President Kamala Harris, calling them "childless cat ladies."

Vance's spokeswoman, Taylor Van, dismissed the comments in the 2021 video, saying his attack on Weingarten was more about schools "forcing anti-American propaganda into the curriculum" instead of "teaching reading, writing, math, and the basics."

In her solo campaign debut, Walz did not delve into correcting the record of her family's fertility after her husband frequently said they conceived through IVF.

Internet sides with Gwen Walz as she rips into JD Vance

Netizens supported Gwen Walz by praising her spot-on reply to JD Vance along with calling him the "worst VP candidate."

"Gwen Walz schools JD Vance, but he ain't gonna do no lernin'. He's one of those kids. If you've spent any time in a classroom you know exactly what I'm talking about. One of those miscreants who refuses to learn. He could have been one of your students or a classmate," a social media user wrote.

"Gwen Walz just sent JD Vance to the principal’s office and I am here for it," another added.

"Gwen Walz’s response is a firm reminder that personal choices and family matters are best left to individuals, not politicians," one person said.

"Vance is the worst candidate for VP that I have ever seen - no morals, no filter, politically, socially, and publicly inept at his best. Gwen has every right to tell him off after his weird behavior in any way she wants to. Firefighters who booed Vance off the stage got it right!" another added.

"Oh boy! We all know teach’s glasses thing. So good . JD is gonna have a long couple months ahead," someone else wrote.

"Gwen Walz is good at calling JD out," one individual remarked.

"I love this so much. “So let me use my teacher voice. English teachers, you know what these babies are for.” & then proceeds to bring in the audience to use their teacher voice too. Gwen Walz is an icon & is perfect at taking on JD Vance," another added.
