WASHINGTON, DC: Senator JD Vance (R-OH), running mate of Donald Trump, persisted in characterizing Democrats as "anti-child" on Sunday, August 11. He cited Covid-19 mask mandates to illustrate how he believes his opponents are out of touch while facing continued criticism for his previous remarks.

Vance told CNN host Dana Bash that Democrats have adopted policies that are "anti-family," and claimed that Kamala Harris' campaign had misconstrued his "childless cat ladies" remark.

JD Vance blasts Kamala Harris for being part of anti-family ideas

Prior to his senatorial role, JD Vance mentioned to former Fox News host Tucker Carlson in 2021 that the US was governed by "childless cat ladies," specifically mentioning Harris, Pete Buttigieg, and Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Daily Beast reported.

“I criticized Kamala Harris for being part of a set of ideas that exist in American leadership that is anti-family,” Vance remarked. “I never, Dana, criticize people for not having kids. I criticize people for being anti-child. And I do think that Kamala Harris—”

“You think she’s anti-child?” Bash responded. “—has made some bizarre statements,” Vance went on to say during the CNN interview.

He falsely claimed that Harris said it was reasonable for people to avoid having children because of climate change, misrepresenting her remarks from last year where she had expressed empathy for individuals dealing with "climate anxiety" as they considered starting a family.

Vance then attempted to draw parallels to Covid-era masking, arguing that Democrats lacked sufficient understanding of young children when they implemented mask mandates for this age group, even though such mandates began during the Trump administration.

“I think that if we had more people who took the right perspective and had a little bit more understanding of how little kids actually operate, we would not have made so many of those mistakes,” Vance stated.

“People didn't know as much because it was literally a novel virus,” Bash said.

JD Vance questions Dana Bash about Kamala Harris's views on the US southern border

JD Vance grew frustrated with the exchange and criticized Dana Bash for asking the question. “You’ve now asked me three questions about comments that I made three years ago,” Vance said.

He continued, “I wonder what Kamala Harris thinks about the fact that she supported policies that opened the American southern border. I wonder what Kamala Harris thinks about the fact that she lied to the American people about Joe Biden’s mental facility for the office.”

“But I’m interviewing you, not Kamala Harris,” Bash reminded him.

After the filmed interview, Pete Buttigieg made an appearance and attacked Vance for ignoring his earlier comments, claiming the senator was limited to disparaging remarks.

“I’m a dog guy with two kids, but I’m one of millions of Americans he managed to insult there,” Buttigieg said.

He added, “But then the other part just is troubling, right, which is saying that anybody who disagrees with him is ‘anti-child.’ And it’s part of just who he is, right? He seems incapable of talking about a vision for this country in terms of lifting people up or building people up or helping people out. It's always disparagement.”

Internet believes JD Vance is 'ready to be Vice President'

As soon as the video of the interview surfaced the social media, users started reacting to it.

A user claimed, "This man is seriously ready to be Vice President of the United States of America. This man is Determined, you can see it in eyes, his posture, presentation but also the way he handles the interview." [sic]

Another user added, "JD Vance kept his cool and gave sharp and concise answers. When a Republican sits down with the MSM, they know it's going to be a hit piece. On the other hand. Dana Bash accidentally admits that Kamala Harris is avoiding CNN and the other Democrat-friendly press."

The third commentator remarked, "J.D.'s experience in his hotly contested Senate race has served him well. He crushed this interview." [sic]

"This is VERY impressive. JD just jumped up 5 notches in my book, wow. WHERE IS KAMALA, WHY NO INTERVIEWS?" one impressed user wrote.

A person said, "I never knew JD Vance is this intelligent and smart, him alone can handle Democrat. Now you know why dems don’t like him. Can’t wait for debate between Vance and Walz." [sic]

Another chimed in, "He nailed it and he shut down Dana Bash. It was amazing!"
