MANASSAS, VIRGINIA: Gwen Walz has launched a scathing attack on Donald Trump during the campaign trail in Virginia.

On Friday, August 30, the first lady of Minnesota blasted the former president over in vitro fertilization (IVF) and called out his running mate JD Vance.

“I am so proud to be an educator for Harris,” Walz said in her opening remarks. She was referring to her career as an English teacher, per The Hill.

Gwen Walz's personal connection

The Walz family has been open about their struggle to have a child for a long time, and they even raised their first child, Hope, for the same reason.

During her speech on Friday, she referenced Vance's remark on Kamala Harris as “childless cat ladies.”

“Now, I read that JD Vance said he was really disturbed by teachers who don’t have biological children. Well, for a long time, Tim and I were teachers who struggled with infertility and we were only able to start a family because of fertility treatments,” Walz said in her first solo campaign event.

“So, this is really personal for me and I think it is for millions of Americans. We do not take kindly to folks like JD Vance telling us when or how to start our families.”

“Let me use my teacher voice. Mr. Vance, how about you mind your own business?” Walz passionately in her speech.

She then took to Trump over fiddling with reproductive rights, “So here are the facts and there aren’t any alternatives to these.”

“Donald Trump is the one who took down Roe and put access to IVF at risk. That’s a fact. And he’s running on a platform that puts these treatments at risk nationwide and that’s a fact,” Walz added.

Netizens shared their thoughts on Gwen Walz slamming Donald Trump

The Internet gave an honest reaction to Gwen Walz's claim holding Donald Trump responsible for risking women's reproduction rights.

A user shared on X, "GwenWalz has the fire in the belly. I love her!! She must be Italian with that passion!!" Another expressed, "Um...he promised to get rid of Roe, and that's one of the reasons I voted for him. DUH."

One clarified, "It is very much not a fact. The fact is the Supreme Court said roe was unconstitutional. It was not an executive order or something."

Someone else opined, "Men in politics have no right to say what can and cannot happen to a woman's body. Government on a national scale or local scale should have no say in people's right to reproductive health. Abortion, fertility treatments or contraception! Period."

"Trump says he wants to make IVF treatments paid for by government or insurance companies if elected," claimed one, while another quipped at Walz, saying, "The SCOTUS sent it back to states. Nothing was taken down. Just raving lunatic liberal."
