Whoopi Goldberg offers Hillary Clinton ‘part-time gig’ on 'The View' as former first lady promotes memoir
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Hillary Clinton may have been on a book tour across the United States, but 'The View' moderator Whoopi Goldberg had something else in mind for the former Secretary of State.
During Thursday’s episode of the talk show, Goldberg made an unexpected job offer to Clinton at the end of their roundtable discussion.

Whoopi Goldberg suggested Hillary Clinton to join 'The View' team on a part-time basis, sparking laughter from the audience and Clinton herself.
The lighthearted moment came amid a broader conversation about Clinton’s recent memoir and the upcoming presidential election.
“You sure you don’t want a gig? Like a part-time gig, because,” Goldberg said with a playful tone as Clinton laughed.
“Listen, we thank you for always coming to the table. It’s always a pleasure and an honor, and we didn’t even talk about your husband,” Goldberg added at the end of the show, Entertainment Weekly reports.

Clinton then chimed in, adding, “But I do! I talk about him in the book.” Goldberg then quipped, “Well yes, but in order to know that, you have to get the book,” referring to Clinton’s latest memoir 'Something Lost, Something Gained: Reflections on Life, Love, and Liberty.'

Earlier in the episode, Hillary Clinton delivered a strong endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris ahead of the 2024 presidential election.
Clinton spoke about the significance of Harris’ role, stating that she was “the right person for our country” in the current political climate.
"Remember, this election, it’s not just between two people. It’s between two very different ideas about what our country should be," she said.
"It’s between democracy and autocracy, it’s between freedom and oppression, it’s between someone who wants to bring us together — Kamala Harris wants to be the president for everybody,” Clinton added.

In another moment, Hillary Clinton touched on the relationships between women who have served as first lady.
She mentioned her surprise when she saw Melania Trump at the funeral of Rosalynn Carter which Clinton attended alongside Jill Biden, Michelle Obama, and Laura Bush last year.
“I think it was a little scary. I say she looks like the kid on the outside of the birthday party, like, am I going to be accepted? Do I belong here?” Clinton recalled.

However, Clinton shared that they warmly welcomed Melania. “I said hello to her, and I write about how I thought it was a very positive thing for her to show up.”
During this exchange, Goldberg encouraged the audience to show support for Melania.
“You can give her that,” Goldberg told the crowd, prompting applause. “You can give her that,” she reiterated, acknowledging the unexpected appearance of the former First Lady, MEDIAITE noted.
