PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Claudia Tenney, a Republican representative from New York, has submitted a formal nomination for former President Donald Trump to receive a Nobel Peace Prize.

The basis for this suggestion is the "historic" Abraham Accords, signed between Israel, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain in 2020, as per The Messenger.

These Accords were deemed a significant achievement for global peace and stability, and Tenney credits Trump's involvement in their negotiation and implementation as deserving of recognition.

Rep Claudia Tenney says Donald Trump's strong leadership and efforts to achieve world peace must be recognized

Claudia Tenney (R-NY) told Fox News Digital in a statement, "Donald Trump was instrumental in facilitating the first new peace agreements in the Middle East in almost 30 years."

She continued, "For decades, bureaucrats, foreign policy 'professionals', and international organizations insisted that additional Middle East peace agreements were impossible without a resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. President Trump proved that to be false."

Tenney mentioned, "The valiant efforts by President Trump in creating the Abraham Accords were unprecedented and continue to go unrecognized by the Nobel Peace Prize Committee, underscoring the need for his nomination today."

The 62-year-old GOP lawmaker representing New York’s 24th congressional district elaborated, "Now more than ever when Joe Biden’s weak leadership on the international stage is threatening our country’s safety and security, we must recognize Trump for his strong leadership and his efforts to achieve world peace."

"I am honored to nominate former President Donald Trump today and am eager for him to receive the recognition he deserves," concluded the GOP Rep.

Notably, in September 2020, the US negotiated an agreement, leading to the signing of the Abraham Accords, which marked a significant milestone in the diplomatic relations between Israel and Arab nations.

The signing ceremony, which was organized by the ex-POTUS at the White House, symbolized a historic moment, as it was the first time since 1994 that Israel had established official diplomatic ties with an Arab country.

Foreign Ministers of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bahrain, namely Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani and Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, respectively, as well as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, signed the Abraham Accords.

Rep Tenney argued that the 1976 Israeli peace agreement with Egypt and the Oslo Accords in 1994 were both acknowledged by Nobel Peace Prizes, noting that the facilitation of the Abraham Accords by Trump has not received the same recognition.

It is worth mentioning that the 77-year-old GOP presidential frontrunner has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in three previous instances.

In 2020, Trump was first nominated by Christian Tybring-Gjedde, a member of the Norwegian Parliament, for his global conflict resolution resume.

The second nomination came in 2021 from Laura Huhtasaari, an MEP and a member of the right-wing Swedish Finns Party, who nominated him for the accolade "in recognition of his endeavors to end the era of endless wars, construct peace by encouraging conflicting parties for dialogue and negotiations, as well as underpin internal cohesion and stability of his country."

Moreover, in 2020, a group of Australian lawmakers cited his restraint in involving the US in wars as the basis for the nomination.

The Nobel Peace Prize recipient will be announced in October 2024.

Internet befuddled as Rep Claudia Tenney nominates Donald Trump for Nobel Peace Prize

Soon after the news of Tenney nominating Trumo for the Nobel Peace Prize citing his involvement in the Abraham Accords came to light, netizens seemed to have differing opinions regarding the GOP Rep's stance.

One of Trump's followers remarked, "He Deserves it, the first American President capable of meeting face to face and have a handshake with the North Korean President and restoring world Peace, Deserve it."

Another claimed, "First country he visited was Saudi Arabia then to Israel. He’s a Peacemaker in the very real sense of the word. Obama got the Nobel Prize for turning up at the office."

On the other hand, a person quipped, "lol…historic amount of felonies maybe," and someone else remarked, "You can’t be serious."

"You're like Alina Habba. Quit while you're behind. You're losing votes by the truckload here," stated an individual.

One more sarcastically said, "Thank you for signaling that you’re also in need of an aptitude test."
