MANHATTAN, NEW YORK CITY: Former President Donald Trump made harsh remarks targeting immigrants during a rally in New Hampshire, stating, "They're poisoning the blood of our country."

Following the incident, on the December 19 episode of  'Late Night With Seth Meyers', the host, Meyers highlighted recent Donald Trump's speech regarding the immigration status in the United States.

Trump looks like 'something that shows up under a microscope in a toxicology lab'

"Donald Trump and his allies have made it very clear that if he wins the second time, he will be completely and totally unrestrained. Now, you might be thinking to yourself, Donald Trump was restrained in his first term?"

"Like, I know it's been a million years since he was elected, and we've been through several elections, a pandemic, a recession, a coup attempt, two impeachments, a bunch of indictments, several dozen unprecedented, history-making scandals, and a press conference at a landscaping company. But I don't recall ever watching Trump lose the Oval Office and thinking to myself, who is this bashful little wallflower?"

He continued, "Trump is making it clear this time around that he will surround himself with toadies and yes-men who can use the levers of power to turn his authoritarian impulses into reality, and he's actively drawing up plans to get revenge on his political opponents."

"He's calling his critics "vermin," said he'll be a dictator for one day, and then on Saturday, he said this about immigration", said Meyers before playing a clip from Trump's campaign speech.

In the clip, Trump mentioned that when a large number of people, around 15 to 16 million, are allowed into the country, there is a significant amount of work to be done. He expressed the belief that these individuals are "poisoning the blood of our country."

Meyers couldn't help but say, "You look like something that would show up under a microscope in a toxicology lab. I'm not sure you should be talking about poisoning anyone's blood when you look like the corpse of a mobster who just got fished out of the water next to the FDR."

"Trump and his goons are already drawing up very real plans to revive his Muslim ban, expel asylum seekers, round up migrants by the millions in sweeping raids, and build detention camps to house them. But his sycophants in Congress and on right-wing TV are once again trotting out the same excuses they've already used to dismiss Trump's worst offenses for years now," Meyers added.

'Donald Trump channeled his role models'

As reported by NBC News, Trump also said, “They’ve poisoned mental institutions and prisons all over the world. Not just in South America, not just the three or four countries that we think about, but all over the world, they’re coming into our country from Africa, from Asia.”

Trump reiterated the term 'poisoning' in a bold, all-caps post on his social media platform, Truth Social. In the post, he asserted that "illegal immigration is poisoning the blood of our nation. They're coming from prisons, from mental institutions—from all over the world."

Trump's recent use of white supremacist rhetoric is not an isolated incident; he had previously employed similar language in October, as reported by The Guardian. In response, Joe Biden's campaign issued a statement denouncing Trump's comments.

“Donald Trump channeled his role models as he parroted Adolf Hitler, praised Kim Jong Un, and quoted Vladimir Putin while running for president on a promise to rule as a dictator and threaten American democracy. Trump is not shying away from his plan to lock up millions of people into detention camps and continues to lie about that time when Joe Biden obliterated him by over 7 million votes three years ago,” the Biden campaign said, as per NBC News

Trump's firm stance on immigration adds a certain intensity to his speech, making it sound rather alarming. Throughout his tenure in the White House, Trump oversaw the construction of 450 miles of fencing along the roughly 2,000-mile border.

This initiative involved replacing a significant portion of the existing barriers to deter immigration. Additionally, his administration implemented strict border security measures and imposed a travel ban on citizens from several countries with sizable Muslim populations, as reported by POLITICO.
