WASHINGTON, DC: Karine Jean-Pierre has faced people’s wrath online after she defended President Joe Biden when questioned about the border crisis during Wednesday's, May 22, White House briefing.

The White House Press Secretary was asked why the commander-in-chief has not taken any step to address the ever-growing migrant issue despite having the power to do it “unilaterally.”

To which Jean-Pierre fired back, saying, “But why should he have to do it unilaterally? Why — why shouldn’t we do it in a legislative way?”

The 49-year-old political advisor was then interrupted during the briefing as she was reminded that Biden had taken 94 executive actions earlier, the Daily Mail reported.

But Jean-Pierre continued to side with her boss as she noted, “To deal with what’s happening at the border, in order to deal with a broken immigration system, you need law, you need legislation, you need to ha- — it to happen in a bipartisan way.”

She also took to X to share her opinion on the matter.

“The President is clear about where he stands – he believes we are a nation of immigrants and a nation of laws. We can expand lawful immigration pathways and ensure the United States remains a beacon of hope and opportunity,” Jean-Pierre added.

Karine Jean-Pierre asked to ‘resign’

But people on the internet did not agree with her as a critic tweeted, “This woman is a shocker!  She's so far up herself that she's almost invisible!”

Another user wrote, “You should resign. Period.”

One user while blasting Biden, said, “Because it's his job!! He's the president,  isn't he? Un f-ing believable!!”

“You are so bad at this…” another remarked.

One person added, “Do you really think people actually believe anything you say?  It’s pretty funny watching you pretend like you do 😂.”

An individual commented, “Meaningless double talk.”

“I cannot wait for you to go,” another individual added.

Joe Biden asked for support to deal with migrant problem

In January, Biden claimed that he had “done” everything to control the border issue, as reported by The New York Post.

He at the time said, “Just give me the power. I’ve asked from the very day I got into office.”

“Give me the Border Patrol, give me the people, the judges —  give me the people who can stop this and make it work right,” the president added.

A person advised, "Joe Biden doesn’t need a bill to secure the border. He could use Executive Orders. He used them to undo Trump’s orders that secured the border. The proposed border bill allows 1.8 million illegals in a year. That’s as bad as now. Deport all illegals and close the border."
