NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Speaker Mike Johnson took to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to call out the Biden administration on border security, by making crude corrections to a White House post on the incumbent's student loan debt alleviating policies on Tuesday, April 9,

However, social media users were not amused by the effort and slammed Johnson on the border crisis issue and for failing to meet the expectations of Republican supporters.

Speaker Mike Johnson's tweet

The Speaker retweeted a post made by the White House on the same day, which noted media headlines of the President announcing new plans to provide relief to millions of borrowers in the United States.

"President Biden vowed to use every tool available to cancel student debt for as many borrowers as possible – no matter how many times Republican elected officials try to block him. And his Administration is delivering," it read.

Jonhson shared a screengrab of the text on his post, editing it in red to read, "President Biden refused to use every tool available to secure the border for as many Americans as possible - no matter how many times Republican elected officials try to force him."

"Fixed it for you," he wrote in the tweet.

Internet reacts to Speaker Mike Johnson's tweet

Johnson was called out by social media users for his mockery, as the following tweets demonstrate.

"You're fixing nothing. You're accomplishing nothing. Sad," wrote a user.

"Do more than test your 'clever' tweets. Do some effing work, Clown," slammed another.

"I would definitely stop tweeting dude! Your gig is up!!" exclaimed a third user.

A fourth user turned the tables on Johnson by commenting, "@SpeakerJohnson refused to close the BORDER and is allowing more money to be Funneled into the politicians pockets instead of caring about the American people and economy… I fixed it for you…"

"Sorry speaker johnson you are just as responsible for this. You folded on the omnibus," stated a fifth.

"You’ve got no room to criticize anyone on the border. You had the opportunity to force the administration to address the border issue. Instead, you chose capitulation and another omnibus spending bill. Shame on you," commented a sixth user.
