Mamdani took it in stride, smiling, "One day, we're gonna get it." The exchange drew laughs from the audience, showcasing Mamdani’s easygoing nature and sense of humor. He later joked that mispronunciations happen often, but he’s happy to set the record straight.

Zohran Mamdani keeps mood light during name mix-up on 'The View'

Mamdani shared a lighthearted moment on 'The View'. The slip-up had the cohosts chuckling as they watched the popular liberal politician patiently handle the mix-up. Around minute 32 of the 36-minute segment, Mamdani smiled and laughed as Goldberg struggled with his name.

Turning to Mamdani, Goldberg said, "Listen, Z, I'm trying," while some suggested she just call him "Mayor Z" to keep it simple.

Goldberg admitted, "It's also, I'm dyslexic, so it doesn't look like what I'm seeing," as she pointed toward the prompter. "I'm trying to get it right, and I'm just calling him Mayor Z."

Mamdani, unfazed, replied with a grin, "One day, we're gonna get it." The conversation then moved on, with the mayor discussing a wide range of local and national political issues.

Zohran Mamdani opens up about meeting Trump and his approach to working across political lines

During the conversation, Joy Behar asked Zohran Mamdani about his November 21 meeting with President Donald Trump. "We all know you are totally filled with charm. The one who's really taken with you is Trump. What's interesting is you called him a fascist to his face," Behar said. Mamdani confirmed that he had done exactly that at the time.

The NYC mayor called the moment "a dream I've always had" and noted that Trump "seemed to be madly in love" with Mamdani afterwards, even sending him texts following the meeting. "Can I see the texts?" Behar asked. Mamdani declined, saying, "I don't have my phone with me."

The discussion wrapped up with Mamdani clarifying his approach to working with Trump for the good of New York City.
