GREENVILLE, SOUTH CAROLINA: During a televised Town Hall event in Greenville, South Carolina, Laura Ingraham, a prominent political commentator and Fox News host, directed a pointed query to former President Donald Trump, inquiring about his decision not to withdraw from the electoral race despite facing a barrage of legal challenges.

In response, Trump underscored his unwavering commitment to his campaign slogan, 'Make America Great Again', emphasizing that his dedication to this mission precluded any consideration of stepping down.

Trump addresses concerns of political persecution

Ingraham asked, "A lot of people would have said 'I'm gonna come out'. Why are you staying in this?"

To which Trump replied, "I can't. Because I want to make America great again. It's not great right now."

Trump further said, "We can do that. We can do it. We can get it fixed. It's harder now. It would have been so much easier if we just finished you off that four years. Everything would have been so perfect. We had the border set. Everything was set to rock and roll."

She then asked, "You feel like you have an obligation to America?"

To this Trump replied, "I do."

"It's all coming in on you now, from criminal to civil to the money," the host added.

Trump replied, "I've become everything. I have become an expert at law. I wouldn't have any of these lawsuits, you know that, none of them. They would have gone onto the next."

"Look, Nikki Haley has no chance if she ever did, they go after her the same way. These are vicious, sick people. They are sick. And this judge is sick. He got overturned on this case, so far overturned by the appellate division four times already on this case."

As per The State, Trump further suggested he could have lived a peaceful life, instead, he sacrificed himself and his family for the good of America.

Expanding on the theme of political persecution, Ingraham pressed Trump on whether he envisioned himself as a "potential political prisoner in the United States".

Trump, buoyed by his confidence in the poll numbers reflecting his electoral prowess against Joe Biden said, "If I were losing in the polls, they wouldn’t even be talking about me and I wouldn’t have had any legal fees."

However, he candidly acknowledged the deep-seated animosity harbored toward him by political adversaries, suggesting that their intense antipathy could potentially override electoral considerations and lead to unwarranted persecution, even in the absence of electoral defeat.

Supporters laud Ingraham's interview, commend Trump's sacrifice and patriotism

Ingraham's comments sparked an immediate and supportive reaction, with many praising her for her outspokenness and for initiating important discussions on the subject matter.

One commenter wrote, "He gave up everything and half of America hates him. I’ll never understand it."

Another expressed, "Because GOD sent TRUMP he feels it in his soul."

Yet another commenter stated, "His courage has been astounding given the attacks."

"He also said that success would be his revenge on those that have wronged him. I love that guy," remarked another.

"We needed this suffering to realize what is really happening in our country," emphasized another commenter.

"Much like the founding fathers, many of them wealthy, sacrificed it all to build what they believed was an experiment for the good of humanity based on individual rights. Our game to lose. Trump recognizes we are losing," added another.

"A true freaking patriot, right there," concluded another commenter.
