WASHINGTON, DC: Chris Hayes has recently come under the spotlight for appearing confident about the conclusion of the Ron DeSantis campaign.

During a recent television appearance, the host boldly declared that DeSantis would never ascend to the position of POTUS.

Interestingly, his rationale was not rooted in the Florida governor's political stances, personality, appeal, or manner of engaging with voters.

Rather, Hayes suggested that DeSantis' height is a disqualifying factor for the presidency of the United States, sparking reactions online.

Chris Hayes confidently proclaimed that DeSantis would never rise to the role of POTUS.

On Friday, the reporter, despite acknowledging his status as an "out of touch New York City liberal," maintained his long-held belief that Republican presidential hopeful Ron DeSantis is "too short to be president."

In a conversation with ex-Florida Representative David Jolly, Hayes implied that DeSantis lacks the necessary charisma to ascend to the presidency. He "just doesn't have the appeal," said the tv icon.

Hayes stated, "My first instinct on him as a national candidate was that I may be an out-of-touch New York City liberal, but I know my country and the man is too short to be president. I think that’s proven to be true."

Although DeSantis asserts that he stands at approximately 5 ft 11in, others, including Sarah Rumpf from Mediaite, have estimated his actual height to be somewhere between 5 ft 8 in and 5 ft 9 in.

"I've met him multiple times, dating back to before he was ever elected to office, and he certainly did not appear to be three inches taller than me," Rumpf noted in November.

"I'm 5'8″, so I should have to look up to someone who is actually 5'11".

The Internet has been buzzing with reactions after Hayes' mocking statement about DeSantis’ physical appearance.

"DeSantis could be 3ft tall and he would still be a better candidate than Trump and Biden," said a user on X.

Another said, "Down with heightism!"

A user shared a gif and wrote, "DeSantis walking onstage for the next debate."

One person suggested, "So there we go the number 1 criteria for president is he should be tall. May as well only select candidates from the NBA then. It’s not serious it’s pathetic."

Another wondered, "Can you be too biased to practice journalism? If so, can you explain to us how you are still qualified?"

"Your first reaction to a political candidate was to judge him by his height, and yet you want us to take you seriously as a commentator," stated someone else.

A user noted, "Short is offensive and cruel. Our preferred words are compact awesome."

"Height is not a criterion that should concern anyone. Having a brain is." penned another.

"That’s the absolute dumbest take ever. Like seriously," remarked a user.
