'AITA for leaving my boyfriend and his children at restaurant after he forgot his credit card?'
A woman revealed that constantly paying for meals has left her broke (skynesher/E+)

A 32-year-old woman took to Reddit's "Am I The A**hole" (AITA) forum to share that she walked out on her boyfriend and his children at a restaurant after he forgot to carry his credit card again.

The woman, under the username Theotrics536, began, "I have been dating my boyfriend m36 for 9 months. He has two little children who love going out to eat."

She then mentioned that she and her boyfriend along with his children enjoy eating out once a week and "each time he happens to forget his credit card to make a payment. I'd obviously end up paying since we had the kids with us. But honestly it left me broke this month and the month before."

Woman reveals her boyfriend once again forgot his credit card despite being reminded

The original poster (OP) shared that after receiving her payment for her second job, which is part-time, she decided to go out for dinner with her boyfriend and the children, and even made sure to send him a text reminding him not to forget his credit card, but he laughed it off.

At the restaurant, the woman's boyfriend let his children order expensive items from the menu and before they started eating she "mentioned his credit card just to make sure he didn't forget it."

He then searched his pockets for a while, looked at the OP in a sorry way, and said, "Guess I forgot it in the other pair of jeans that I thought I was going to wear." He asked her to foot the bill "just this time."

However, OP wasn't having it and she immediately left the place without even eating a single bite. "He freaked out asking where I was going. I told him I wouldn't be paying 'this time AGAIN' and to enjoy his dinner with the kids. Then I walked out," she shared.

Rather than realizing his mistake, her boyfriend instead got angry. "He said he forgot, FORGOT (he yelled like that) and that I did not show sympathy for him and the kids and he had to cancel and go home with the kids hungry since he couldn't pay right there and then," the woman revealed.

"We got into an argument and he's been mad at me about it since then saying things like how he needs to take a look at how I'm treating the kids specifically and how I was willing to let them go hungry with my selfishness," she further mentioned, before asking, "AITA?"

Redditors called the woman's boyfriend a 'red flag'

Redditors sided with the woman, pointing out that her boyfriend was most likely taking advantage of her.

One wrote, "NTA - He’s using you sweetheart, you’re not his gf, you’re a meal ticket. Curb him."

Another said, "Once is an accident, twice is coincidence, three makes a pattern, 36 times means you're NTA but you do need a reality check about this relationship. I mean I have a friend who actually does lose his debit card constantly but he just Venmo's his share or actually does grab the bill next time."

"NTA. You know he didn’t ‘forget’, he knows he didn’t forget and every single reader of this post knows he didn’t forget. He didn’t forget," a person pointed out.

"NTA. This guy is a manipulative AH. Red flags left and right. ETA: You're my hero for walking out. Had you stayed he would have gaslighted you into paying. This is a situation he created," one more remarked.

"NTA. He weaponises his kids to mooch you out. Red flag territory," another comment read.
