A woman, known online as JennyAnonymous, took to the popular Reddit forum "AITA" to ask if she was wrong for locking up her food after a series of frustrating incidents with her roommate, Sarah.

The original poster, 30, explained that Sarah, 29, has a habit of eating whatever food is in the fridge, whether it belongs to her or not. Despite repeatedly promising to replace it, Sarah's actions continued, leaving the OP without her share of groceries.

The final straw came when Sarah ate the OP’s homemade tiramisu which she had spent hours preparing after a stressful week at work.

The dessert, which the woman described as her “emotional support,” was eaten without permission. She wrote, "The last straw was when she ate my emotional support tiramisu. For context, I’d spent hours making this tiramisu after a rough week at work. It was my therapy in a dessert."

And after eating it, Sarah left a note saying, "Sorry! PMS sucks. I owe you." The OP, clearly upset, decided to lock her food in a separate fridge which she believes is the only way to stop Sarah from eating it.

"Sarah is furious now," the woman wrote on Reddit. Now Sarah claimed that the woman has "ruined" the vibe of apartment.

Explaining what Sarah said to her, the original poster wrote on Reddit, "I’ve “ruined the vibe of the apartment” and that I’m “passive-aggressive” for locking her out of the shared fridge. She even tried to rally our other roommates against me (spoiler: they also hide their snacks from her)."

In her post, the woman questioned if she was wrong for locking her food away as Sarah had become increasingly entitled about the situation, claiming that because the OP and the other roommates earn more money, it’s only fair to share.

Despite the tension, the OP made it clear that she cares about Sarah but can no longer tolerate her behavior.

The OP received significant support from the Reddit community, with many users agreeing that Sarah’s behavior was out of line.

A user wrote, "NTA. The 'vibe of the apartment' was 'Sarah will eat your food.' That’s a vibe that deserves to be ruined. She sounds like the kind of person who would go to a potluck, bring nothing but her appetite, then take the leftovers home. I bet she calls is 'sharing.'"

Another added, "I think that actions like removing a shared amenity or turning off the power it could be seen as an illegal eviction. She needs to stop eating your food, but you also need to protect yourself legally. NTA."

A third commentator remarked, "NTA. She probably owes you a lot of money. Good job on protecting your property. You probably need a smaller fridge for yourself. She does have some right on that fridge. Lock your room too. Can’t trust a food thief."

"NTA. Hell, if I ate stress ate, I'd be the one buying you the lock. She knows what she's doing is wrong," claimed one.

A person said, "NTA at all. It’s one thing to grab a snack occasionally, but she’s straight up stealing ur food and not replacing it. The fact that she ate ur tiramisu after a hard week? That’s just cruel. She’s mad bec she can’t get away with it anymore. She should buy her own food if she wants to “stress eat”."

Another chimed in, "NTA. She’s literally gaslighting you by saying you're being passive-aggressive. No, you're just protecting yourself from someone who is clearly taking advantage of your kindness. If she didn’t want to deal with a locked fridge, she should’ve learned not to steal your food."
