A 32-year-old woman has turned to Reddit to seek advice from other users after finding herself in a very difficult situation.

The Original Poster (OP), under the username MuchComment1327, shared on Reddit’s 'Am I The A*****e' (AITA) forum, that she got pregnant with her then-boyfriend Mike’s child at the age of 16.

Not only that, Mike also abandoned her during that condition. She, however, did not opt for abortion and continued with her pregnancy.

Woman reveals why she gave her son for adoption

In her post, the 32-year-old woman wrote, “After a lot of thinking, I chose to give up the baby for adoption. My parents knew a super sweet couple that were looking to adopt. We met and I just knew they were the right people.”

She also shared that during that time, she began “homeschool to finish my education and to have rest. The adoptive parents were with me for everything and even paid for most of the medical costs. The adoptive mother was a teacher, so she helped me with my schoolwork and to prepare for college.”

Following the birth of her son, the OP said that she did not even hold the baby. However, she’s present in his life in a distant position as a “special aunt”.

Fast forward to the present day, the woman’s son “knows who I am, but his mom is the same woman that raised him and I continue to be his special aunt. He's happy and I don't regret giving him up to have a happy life.”

Woman says she’s now married to divorcee and has two stepchildren

In the Reddit post, she continued that she’s a married woman now, who tied the knot with Aaron, (44M), six years ago. Her husband is a divorcee and is on good terms with his ex-wife Bella, 40.

“They have two children together. A boy that is 16 and a girl that is 19. Well, to begin with the kids, my stepdaughter and I get along well. She's obviously closer to her mother, but she still does 'girls' days with me every so often. It's more like friends though. My stepson is incredibly close to me.

He calls me his 'other mom' and always asks me to be present for important events,” she revealed. Also, the woman said that she and Bella are best friends.

Woman shares about unexpected meeting she had with Mike

“The reason for this background is that the whole mess with Mike started when I took my step-son to a medical appointment. It wasn't serious, though he did have to use anesthesia. I didn't recognize Mike as one of the doctors,” she explained.

The OP further noted, “After my step-son was done, he was a bit out of it as expected. I was setting him up in the car and making sure he was comfortable when Mike came over. He told me he had been thinking about me and our 'son' for so long, and he was glad our boy was okay. It really took me a few minutes for my brain to click on what was going on and he kept on rambling about apologies and how he wasn't ready to be a father.”

The woman said that eventually she revealed to Mike that the boy was not their son but her stepson.

“Mike was stunned by that and it gave me time to catch him up on the important details. I gave up the baby. He knows what happened and why I gave him up. I married a man with two children. I am happy and don't want him in my life. And no, I won't give him contact information for the adoptive family. He is sixteen years too late,” she mentioned.

Woman says she’s been accused of being devil by Mike

However, things did not end there as the woman said Mike found her on social media and since then he “has been painting this sob story about me denying him a chance to be a father. How I was a poor mother that threw away her child to raise someone else's children. I'm basically the she-devil apparently.”

Though the woman has received support from their former classmates, Mike’s relatives are not kind to her.

She shared, “A few of his relatives have reached out to bash me about taking Mike's chance to be a father. That it made me a 'poor Christian'. I'm not. I'm Jewish to begin with.”

“I don't personally think I was in the wrong, but in case I decided to leave the judgement to the internet masses. So, reddit, AITA?” the poster added.

Reddit users ask woman to ‘consult a lawyer’

A Redditor supported the woman, saying, “NTA Hi, therapist here. Seems like it was the right decision for everyone involved!. Especially Mike, who clearly shouldn't 't be anywhere near children given his full lack of impulse control and empathy. As a fellow Jewish lady, I recommend laughing at the ‘poor christian’ comments.”

Another Reddit user posted, “Nta.... tf? Also, I'm not judging you for the age gap, but I'm definitely judging Mike. Tell him if he and his friends don't leave you alone that you'll report him to the medical board. Also, maybe ask your son if he wants Mike's contact info, but warn the parents he's bad news. It's your birth son's choice, not yours.”

A person wrote, “NTA What a loser. Good people are setting him straight. Consult a lawyer about him talking sh*t about you online. Medical board?”

Another person stated, “Omg the entitlement. Roll your eyes, shake your head, and forget about them.”

“NTA. He ghosted you when you needed him most, that's straight up trash behavior. It's so messed up that he's trying to rewrite history now that it's convenient for him. Block him on everything and don't engage with his family either. They're just as bad for trying to guilt trip up after all these years,” one commented.

A comment read, “NTA. You made the right choice for you and the baby after Mike ‘noped’ tf out of your life. He didn’t try to find you in the 16 years since then to find out about his son, and is only harassing you now because you appeared in front of him with a teenage boy. I would report him to his superiors and the licensing board as he is being extremely unprofessional. I am loving the fact that most of his attempts to rewrite history are being shut down by people who know the truth.”

Another comment was “NTA but get rid of those few friends who said it was a bitch move to not tell him. They didn't exactly scramble to inform him or tell him to step up either. You did what was best for you and your baby.”
