NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, more popularly known as AOC, has removed her pronouns from her X biography, leading to mass reactions from people online, including her critics.

AOC, 35, had earlier included her pronouns “she/her” on her microblogging account. Even her Instagram account also has “she/her” in her bio.

However, what prompted her to remove it from X has not been cleared yet since she has always been vocal about it. In 2022, AOC apologized to an Instagram follower for not listing her pronouns on the platform at the time.

She said, as per Fox News, “Oh I'm sorry about that. They used to be on there. Let me go in and check and see if I can add them.”

“Sorry about that. They used to be there. I guess they fell off, but I'll put them on right now,” the Congresswoman added at the time.

AOC has always supported trans rights

In October 2023, AOC spoke against proposed restrictions targeting transgender athletes in women's sports during a congressional hearing. “We’re here today because there’s a proposal here to further marginalize trans women in sports,” she had said, as per ADVOCATE.

Even on X, she asserted, “Targeting trans children for playing sports makes all women, whether trans or cisgender, less safe. Sex testing is regressive, invasive, discriminatory, and a fundamental violation of our privacy as women and as Americans. This is shameful.”

However, amid the new development, political activist Riley Gaines has slammed AOC. She said, as reported by Fox News, “They’ll pretend they never embraced (or even celebrated) the insanity. Don’t forget who the compliant, virtue-signaling sheep were.”

In another tweet, she sarcastically wrote, “How will we know what to call AOC now that her pronouns in her bio are gone ?!?!?!”

Meanwhile, many people online have slammed AOC after she dropped her pronouns.

A critic tweeted, “Oh it’s gonna be a glorious day when she gets exposed! Especially when the cards fall…”

Another critic commented, “The woke agenda is collapsing…”

“AOC knows the trans movement is over,” a tweet read.

Another tweet was “Wonder why? Maybe it’s because she doesn’t really believe that nonsense Lmao.”

A user claimed, “Interesting... 🤔 She's setting herself up to run for president. Distancing herself from the woke nonsense that doesn't sell.”

Another commented, “This has everything to do with her running for president in 4 years. They are gonna try to say she’s a moderate, they are gonna wipe away all the extremist things she did. Take pictures and save videos, it’s an INFOWARS alright.”

“It’s amazing that libs are now reverse virtue signaling after the election,” an individual added.

A comment read, “How big was Trump's win in this election? So big that AOC removed her pronouns from her profile.”

However, as per reporter Benjamin Ryan, AOC did not remove her pronouns after the election, she did it way earlier.

He tweeted, “Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez @AOC took her pronouns out of her X bio. According to the Internet Archive, this happened at some point between Aug 3, 2023 and May 18, 2024. In Nov 2022, she apologized for not including her pronouns in her Insta bio, saying ‘They fell off.’”
