LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The private investigator hired by Amber Heard’s legal team to find unflattering information about Johnny Depp ahead of their libel trial was stunned to find the mass support the actor was receiving amid the abuse allegations.

Private investigator Paul Barresi, 74, who has previously worked for Hollywood biggies like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Tom Cruise, and Sylvester Stallone, recently released his self-published book ‘Johnny Depp's Accidental Fixer’, on July 5.

Barresi shared in his book that he interviewed 100 people ahead of Depp’s defamation trial against Heard but was surprised to learn that majority of the people had unwavering support for the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean' actor.

Amber Heard’s PI found people supported Johnny Depp

In his book, Barresi recounts that people have described Depp as a “gentleman’s gentleman”. Someone else has pointed out that ‘The Tourist’ star “doesn't have a mean bone in his body", per Daily Mail.

After Heard’s legal counsel hired Barresi in July 2019 to find information against the actor, he started interviewing people, including some who have known the ‘Edward Scissorhands’ actor for a long time.

Following a contentious legal battle, Depp ultimately won the defamation trial against his ex-wife in the 2022 trial in a Virginia court.

Singer Chuck Weiss said, “In my presence, Johnny has always demonstrated respect and adoration for women.”

Journalist Seven McDonald crossed Barresi’s effort to find negative things about Depp, saying, she never saw Depp to be violent with anyone.

She shared, “I don't think I can help you. Johnny is a sweet man. I've never seen him be violent – in fact, just the opposite. Johnny Depp is the type who would crawl down a drainpipe to save a kitten from drowning.”

Depp’s tattoo artist Jonathan Shaw gave a scathing critique of Heard, while saying, “Johnny is super controlled, and a superhuman being,” and added, “The only thing I would be willing to help that gold- digging w***e (Heard) do is help load the gun she wanted to use to blow her f**king brains out.”

Model Carre Otis too sided with Depp after Barresi tried to get information from her. When the PI suggested Depp to be a violent man, Otis scoffed at the idea saying it was a “ridiculous” notion.

Former child star Olivia Barash, and a one-time employee of Depp’s nightclub The Viper Room, claimed, “'Johnny doesn't have a mean bone in his body.”

The Arquette acting clan member, Richmond Arquette, who worked at the Viper Room too, called Depp “a gentleman's gentleman.”

While majority of the accounts portray Depp in a positive light, Barresi has, nevertheless, included some unflattering notions about Depp as well.

The ex-wife of Depp's close friend Isaac Baruch said that Baruch was a “manipulator” while claiming he and Depp are “birds of a feather.”

Nevertheless, Barresi wrote in his book that his writing was a study of the complex character of Depp and not a unidirectional portrayal of the man.

Saying that he attempted to understand the “complexities of his character,” Barresi writes, “Through this journey, I aimed to honor our shared humanity, shedding light on the man behind the myths and offering a narrative grounded in genuine understanding and compassion.”

Fans applaud Johnny Depp

Following the revelations, internet quickly sided with Depp while admitting that he is flawed but a good-at-heart individual.

One of the readers commented online, "People sided with Depp because he's not a manipulative person. Flawed, yes. But he's done wonderful and generous things things over the years and understood his privilege. Amber did not get this, instead of being the partner to help him, she trapped him and tried to use everything against him. Everyone saw right through her and her 'victimhood'."

Someone else said, "She was in a relationship with woman for four years and also had other female partners so I think the fake one was Heard. None of Depps former partners had a bad word to say about him and men who abuse do it to every woman they have ever had in their life."

"Thanks Paul for sharing your book. It totally affirmed what I thought of Johnny that he’s a good guy," added another fan.

Another social media user said, "I watched the whole trial and I was taken aback by how fake she came across. She’s an actress, but certainly not a very convincing one!"

"The problem is, it's not that Depp was innocent but that Amber was so deceitful in her role as an innocent victim when she was an instigator," said someone else.

Another individual chimed in, "Perhaps because all they were was allegations. she provided literally 0 proof, just doctored photos and a psych report anybody could rig. any wonder she lost."
