LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Johnny Depp is currently focusing on his career and personal growth, leaving no room to dwell on the "darker period’" of his life.

Surrounded by a "good group of people", Depp is also keeping himself busy in various creative pursuits and maintaining a healthier lifestyle.

'The Pirates of the Caribbean' actor is prioritizing health much more these days. With weight loss, he is also now more healthy.

“He is prioritizing his health and wellbeing much more these days,” a source told People. “He’s lost weight. He’s feeling and looking healthier,” the source added.

Now, with 'Jeanne du Barry' out in theaters in the US, Depp is not only focusing on his health but also on career and personal growth. "He’s focused on moving forward," the source added.

“There’s a lot of good distractions, so there’s not that much time to be reminiscing on that darker period," the source further added.

Johnny Depp is open to anything 

The actor is also open to exploring new opportunities. “He’s really open to anything. It’s kind of like a ‘never say never.’ There are no closed doors,” the source explained.

“If there’s a role that comes along that he’s incredibly passionate about, of course he’s going to look into it,” the source further revealed.

Depp is also “very excited” about the US release of his French film 'Jeanne du Barry' on May 3.

The film, which opened at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, sees Depp performing entirely in French.

“He did the entire film in French. It was a good challenge,” the source told the publication. 

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard's legal trouble 

Johnny Depp, 60, faced a tough time after he and his former wife, Amber Heard, 38, fought a bitter legal fight.

They both accused each other of being abusive after their marriage, which lasted for 15 months, ended in 2016.

In 2022, Johnny Depp won a big court case about defamation against Amber Heard.

When he showed his new French movie 'Jeanne du Barry' at the Cannes Film Festival last year, he was met with a rapturous reception.

"There’s been a release of the old and embarking on this new chapter. He’s feeling better about where he is in life," the source said, adding, "There’s no animosity toward anybody."

In addition to his acting endeavors, Depp is also returning to the director’s chair after more than 25 years with the film 'Modi' starring Al Pacino.

This passion project, along with his music, painting, and other creative endeavors, keeps him “in really good spirits," added the source.
