WASHINGTON, DC: Conservative author and commentator Ann Coulter faced severe backlash when she made an allegedly racially charged comment about Vivek Ramaswamy during a virtual interview with him.

Ramaswamy, who has been critical of President Biden's economic policies, drew ire from many Democrats and Biden supporters recently following his interview with Fox News.

He likened Biden's approach to the economy to that of former President Jimmy Carter, warning of potential similar outcomes of losing the White House if Biden's administration stays on its current course.

Ann Coulter reveals why she will not vote for Vivek Ramaswamy

According to the Daily Mail, Coulter recently made a controversial statement, declaring she wouldn't support Ramaswamy because of his Indian heritage, though she did offer some praise for the former presidential candidate.

During a chat on his podcast, 'The Truth Podcast', about nationalism, the rising GOP figure engaged in a lively discussion with Coulter. Despite her controversial remark, Coulter welcomed Ramaswamy warmly.

Coulter admitted to agreeing with many of Ramaswamy's viewpoints but dropped a bombshell when she revealed she wouldn't vote for him because of his ethnicity, stating, "I agreed with many, many things you said, in fact probably more than most other candidates when you were running for president, but I still would not have voted for you because you're an Indian."

Both Ramaswamy and Coulter found common ground in their opposition to dual citizenship, with Ramaswamy emphasizing the importance of undivided loyalty to one's nation as the essence of citizenship, as per the Daily Mail.

Ramaswamy challenged Coulter's stance on ethnicity, questioning its relevance to citizenship. He remarked, "You and I agree on so much there, but where I, I wouldn't say 'lose you', but I may fail to fully understand you is, on that axis of citizenship, what does ethnicity have to do with the matter."

Coulter elaborated on her criteria for presidential support, revealing she only backs candidates who fit the WASP (White Anglo-Saxon Protestant) category.

She asserted, "There is a core national identity that is the identity of the WASP, and that doesn't mean we can't take anyone else in, a Sri Lankan, a Japanese, or an Indian, but the core around which the nation's values are formed is the WASP. We've never had a president who didn't have at least partial English ancestry, never."
