ATHENS, GREECE: While vacationing seaside, 'The View' co-host Ana Navarro took aim at Melania Trump, blasting what she called “performative hypocrisy” in the first lady’s letter to Vladimir Putin urging him to think of Ukrainian children.

Navarro interrupted her holiday to post an Instagram video slamming Melania Trump’s plea for compassion, which was hand-delivered by Donald Trump during his recent meeting with the Russian president.

Ana Navarro slams Melania Trump’s message to Putin

Melania Trump’s letter read: “Every child shares the same quiet dreams in their heart. They dream of love, possibility, and safety from danger.” Donald Trump praised his wife as “someone who has a great love of children.”

Navarro disagreed. “I just can’t with the performative hypocrisy from these people,” she said, criticizing the former president’s record on immigration.

“Think about what her husband, what Donald Trump, is doing to the children of immigrants in America, and to US children of immigrants in America. How many of those children are living with the fear of their parents being dragged through the streets of America? Their car windows smashed in? Their parents beaten by masked men and disappeared?”

Navarro mocked Melania’s appeal with a slow clap. “Melania Trump is telling Putin to preserve the innocence and purity of Ukrainian children. Yay for her. That’s a good thing,” she said.

She further added, “But you know, maybe she should turn around and say the exact same thing to her husband, because there are children in America crying, suffering, going to bed in fear, returning to homes that are abandoned and empty, not knowing where their next meal is coming from because of what her husband is doing.”

Ana Navarro’s remarks spark fierce backlash online

Navarro’s recent criticism of Melania Trump triggered a wave of angry reactions on multiple platforms.

On X, several users accused Navarro of jealousy and disrespect, writing, "Ana Navarro is so jealous of Melania she has to berate her every chance she gets. The only reason I ever hear anything she says is 2nd hand because she is too foul to listen to. I hope the view is being canceled, and I won't have to hear anything from this loser!"

Another user said, "I think she wants to accolades for doing nothing."

Others were more blunt, with one saying, "Navarro is an idiot."

The backlash also spilled onto Instagram, where critics posted short but cutting remarks such as "Get some help girl" and "Sick!"

The comments reflect a growing divide online over Navarro’s frequent takedowns of the first lady.

Ana Navarro's history of clashes with Melania Trump

This is not Navarro’s first swipe at Melania Trump. During the 2020 campaign, she posted a nude photo of the first lady in response to Trump’s attacks on Kamala Harris.

“You wanna go low?… I’ll happily go 20,000 leagues under the sea,” Navarro wrote at the time.

When fellow co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin criticized the post, Navarro defended her actions: “You defeat hypocrisy and you call it out when you see it. I am going to call it out every time that I see it.”
