Angela Alsobrooks praises her 'friend, mentor, and role model' Kamala Harris during DNC's keynote address
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS: Angela Alsobrooks, the candidate for Maryland Senate, took to the stage at the Democratic National
Convention (DNC) on Day 2 and shared details about her friendship with Kamala Harris.
Both two ladies have known each other for 14 years and, during this time, the Democratic presidential nominee mentored the executive of Prince George’s County.
“After reading about this super bad district attorney, I talked non-stop about her on the campaign trail,” Angela Alsobrooks said of Harris.
She continued, “Hear me: Kamala Harris knows how to keep criminals off the streets. Come November, with your help, she’ll keep one out of the Oval Office.”
Tonight, our faith is stronger than our fears. Faith that we, the people, can choose a new leader — and a better future — for the people.

Angela Alsobrooks makes fiery speech at DNC
The audiences were on their feet as Angela Alsobrooks made powerful statements at the DNC. “This is our moment to leave Donald Trump where he belongs: In America’s past,” she said.
“We stand with Kamala Harris because we, as a country, are not going back. For the ancestors who sat at lunch counters and made sure that we all had the right to vote: We are Not. Going. Back,” Alsobrooks added.
“For the mamas and grandmamas who marched to make sure that women could control our own bodies: We are Not. Going. Back,” she noted.
“For the parents who work from can’t-see in the morning until can’t-see at night, not so that they will have a better future, but so that their children will have a better life: We are Not. Going. Back,” Alsobrooks concluded.
Angela Alsobrooks' whirlwind campaign in Maryland
The Maryland Senate candidate is contesting against popular former governor Larry Hogan in November elections.
Angela Alsobrooks has been campaigning with full force and is reaching out to as many counties as possible, reports USA Today.
“We are looking at a time that is like a time we’ve never seen before,” she said during campaigning.
“This election will help us decide the kind of future we want for our children and grandchildren and what kind of state and country we will build for them,” Alsobrooks added.
“We enthusiastically support her bid to be the first Black woman senator to represent the great state of Maryland. We know she is a necessary voice,” said Glynda Carr, president of Higher Heights for America PAC, which works to elect Black female candidates nationwide.
In the Democratic primary, Alsobrooks was outspent 10-to-one by Republican David Trone’s self-funded campaign, however, she still won convincingly.
