LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s 18-year-old daughter, Vivienne Marcheline Jolie, has revealed her hospitalization earlier in 2026 for an eating disorder through her new art exhibition, "A Gallery on Patience in Patients," featuring hand-drawn illustrations and diary entries reflecting on her experience.

Vivienne's exhibition offers a glimpse into her experience at the hospital, which she and her friends referred to as "The Tulip Field." Using diary entries as captions for her illustrations, the teenager recalled memories from her time there and reflected on the kindness she received from fellow patients and staff.

A mission statement displayed at the exhibition detailed her experience. "At the beginning of this year, I was hospitalized for my ED. I was angry, sick, and very alone," she wrote.

Vivienne, who is using her middle name professionally and is known as V Marcheline, also described how her experience gradually changed. "Eventually, however, the kindness and warmth of the kids and staff at the hospital broke down the walls I had built so high. I have never laughed or cried harder, never been more honest or more myself," she wrote.

One of the illustrations featured a payphone with a chair beside it and a tulip sitting on the phone. Its caption came from a diary entry dated April 4, 2026, in which Vivienne wrote, "I want a hug so badly that my body just feels so tight."

Another entry, dated April 22, read: "I have to allow myself to fall apart so I can get better." Other drawings featured tulips sitting around a dinner table and a group of tulips hugging, with the latter illustration titled "Bounded love."

Vivienne Marcheline Jolie's name change and creative work with Angelina Jolie

The exhibition comes days after a Los Angeles court approved Vivienne's request to legally change her name to Vivienne Marcheline Jolie, dropping her father's last name.

Four of the former couple's children have received court approval to drop the Pitt surname. They include Maddox, 25, Zahara, 21, Shiloh, 20, and Vivienne. Her twin brother Knox and their 22-year-old brother Pax have yet to file requests, and it remains unclear whether they will do so.

Vivienne began using her mother's last name professionally in 2024 after encouraging Angelina to become a lead producer for a new production of SE Hinton's 'The Outsiders'. She gained experience working behind the scenes on the production and was credited as Vivienne on the playbill.

The production went on to win four Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Angelina previously spoke about her daughter's interest in theatre, describing her as someone who takes the craft seriously.

"She's very thoughtful and serious about theatre and working hard to best understand how to contribute," Angelina said at the time.

Vivienne's illustration skills also came into public view in September when she was spotted selling her artwork at a Los Angeles street fair with support from her twin brother, Knox. Her stall offered customers prints, stickers, and birthday cards featuring her designs.
