“She’s also so good at a surprise that people were like, ‘Oh my God, is Patient Zero tied to Verity?’ I’m a producer on the movie and I was like, ‘Is it?!’”pic.twitter.com/xXfec9JnwU
Hathaway has now shared her thoughts about it at a SiriusXM Front Row event hosted by Nicole Ryan and Ryan Sampson on SiriusXM Hits 1.
'The Devil Wears Prada' star said, “Taylor is such a mastermind and obviously a brilliant talent and all those things, but she’s also so good at a surprise that when people were like, ‘Oh my God, is Patient Zero tied to Verity?’ I was like, I’m a producer on the movie, and I was like, ‘Is it?’”
“And so I wrote Stacey like the day of the premiere, and I was like, ‘Is there something you need to tell me?’ And she’s like, ‘About what?’ I’m like, Patient Zero. And she wrote back, ‘What’s that?’ And I’m like, ‘Oh, you’re good,’” Hathaway added.
Anne Hathaway praised Dakota Johnson in 'Patient Zero'
The Oscar-winning actress further noted that the release timing of both the music video and the movie worked in favor of them.
“It’s just this weird coincidental timing. And that’s how it all worked out. But no, by the way, it’s not even a music video, it’s a short film. And Dakota is so amazing in it, and I love Taylor as a director. It was a beautiful video. And no, just thrilled for her,” she stated.
Hathaway said the timing was a coincidence and praised Johnson's work in Swift's short film.
Taylor Swift expressed gratitude toward her fans
This came after Swift opened up about her new album and 'Patient Zero' at the MTV Video Music Awards.
The 36-year-old said, “The main reason why I love writing and directing music videos so much is because you — the fans — make it so much fun. You make it so rewarding, because you actually care about what we’re making.”
Also, in an Instagram post, the 'Lover' hitmaker announced her new album, 'The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore', saying, “About a year ago, you guys did a truly unfathomable thing. Something that completely blew my mind. You gave The Life of a Showgirl the biggest first week for an album in history.”
Swift added that to celebrate its success, she went on a trip to Sweden “with Max and Shellback, my two collaborators on this album,” and wrote more songs “because they were born out of pure gratitude for your exuberance for and celebration of the album we made.”
