SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA: An anonymous individual or group sent a threatening letter this week to the Republican Party in Northern California, calling for a “real war” against US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents and urging that they be sent “home in a body bag,” according to Fox News.

The 12-page document, titled A Real American Response to Foreign Terrorist Invasions, was delivered to the Sonoma County Republican Party and contained graphic language advocating violence against federal law enforcement personnel. The letter has since been reported to local authorities as officials warn of a sharp rise in threats targeting ICE agents nationwide.

The incident comes as the Department of Homeland Security said ICE is facing a 1,300% increase in assaults and an 8,000% increase in death threats against its agents, underscoring growing tensions around immigration enforcement in the US.

Anonymous letter mocks ICE agents and federal authority

The document openly mocked ICE agents, accusing them of “living out their ‘Call of Duty’ fantasy army roles, only with real assault weapons.” It also attempted to distance itself from political organizations, stating that no official from any party was involved in writing or distributing the letter.

“NOTE: No official of any party had anything to do with the composing or distributing of this document; it is strictly a private ‘patriotic effort,’” the letter stated, drawing comparisons to individuals involved in the January 6 Capitol unrest.

Letter references Minneapolis ICE shooting

The opening section referenced the recent death of Renee Nicole Good, who was fatally shot by an ICE agent in Minneapolis earlier this month. According to DHS, the agent acted in self-defense after Good allegedly attempted to ram her vehicle into the officer.

The letter described ICE agents as “trigger-happy domestic terrorists” and claimed that both immigrants and US citizens were at risk. It further accused the agency of waging a “foreign invasion–style war” on unarmed men, women, and children.

Document urges violence against ICE personnel

The letter escalated in tone by explicitly encouraging violence against ICE agents and those who support them. It stated that agents and their backers were “fair game” and called for them to be targeted through shootings, vehicle attacks, toxic chemicals, and explosive devices.

“ICE agents and their backers need to become the targets,” the letter read, adding that they should “feel real war” similar to a foreign invading force.

Federal officials named in threatening letter

Several high-profile figures were singled out in the document, including Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy Stephen Miller, and Minnesota Representative Ilhan Omar. The letter criticized their stances on immigration enforcement and ICE operations.

Tasked with the Trump Administration's effort to deport millions of undocumented migrants from the United States, Noem testified before the Homeland Security Subcommittee about her department's FY 2026 budget request. Letter included instructions for making explosives

Pages two and three of the document reportedly contained detailed instructions on how to create a chemical improvised explosive device, under a section titled 'Carrying the War Back to the ICE Invader Murderers and Protecting Our Personnel.' The letter also included images of ICE agents carrying out enforcement duties.
