AOC fuels split rumors with fiancé Riley Roberts after revealing she’s freezing her eggs
WASHINGTON, DC: Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has found herself at the center of fresh speculation about her relationship with longtime fiancé Riley Roberts after opening up about her decision to freeze her eggs.
The 36-year-old Democrat, who has been engaged to Roberts since April 2022, recently said the decision made her feel “more in control of my life.”
But when asked whether her fiancé supported her, Ocasio-Cortez avoided directly referring to Roberts and instead said, “All of my loved ones have been very supportive.”

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Riley Roberts face fresh split speculation
Ocasio-Cortez has reportedly been seen without her engagement ring in recent months, including when she and Roberts were photographed together at a Manhattan burger joint in May.
The diehard environmentalist had proudly sported her modest “zero-emission” engagement ring, which she claimed was constructed from “recycled gold.”
Roberts has also largely disappeared from her recent social media posts. While he featured in posts from 2021 and shortly afterward, he has not appeared in her more recent updates.
The couple's relationship dates back years. They first dated in college, briefly separated, and later reconnected around 2015.
Roberts remained alongside Ocasio-Cortez as she made her stunning political breakthrough in 2018, defeating longtime Democratic incumbent Joseph Crowley and becoming the youngest person elected to Congress at the time.
Riley Roberts’ past appearances with AOC draw attention
The couple got engaged during a trip to Puerto Rico, where Ocasio-Cortez’s family has roots.
After announcing their engagement in 2022, she said they were “taking some space to savor this time before diving into planning” their wedding.
Roberts also appeared with her at the Met Gala, where Ocasio-Cortez wore her much-discussed “Tax the Rich” dress.
He received a ticket to the $35,000-per-person event after being treated as her “spouse”.
Just days after Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez announced that she was freezing her eggs, TMZ reports that she split with her longtime partner, Riley Roberts.

The pair allegedly broke up about two years ago.

A House Ethics Committee report later questioned that designation, saying Roberts did not meet its definition of a spouse for the relevant exception.
The committee said it would have advised Ocasio-Cortez and her counsel that Roberts did not qualify as a “spouse” for the Charitable Events Exception.
It also noted that Roberts was not required to disclose his financial interests in the way a legally married spouse would have been.
AOC once called Riley Roberts deeply supportive
Ocasio-Cortez previously spoke warmly about Roberts in a 2018 GQ interview, describing him as “so supportive and willing and deeply engaging.”
She also discussed the pressures that can come with being a successful woman, saying, “The moment you start being yourself, they kind of freak out.”
Despite the speculation now surrounding the pair, there has been no confirmation from either Ocasio-Cortez or Roberts that they have ended their relationship.
The speculation comes as Ocasio-Cortez publicly focuses on her own health and plans.
On Monday, she shared that she had completed a strength-training session at her Washington, DC, gym before taking a train to New York for an ultrasound - with zero mention of her longtime partner.
