WASHINGTON, DC: After the House on Wednesday, June 3, passed a Democratic-led resolution to end the war with Iran, President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to call out "4 bad" Republicans for voting in favour of the Democratic-led “meaningless” resolution.

The Iran War Powers Resolution was presented by Rep Gregory Meeks and passed 215-208, with four Republicans joining all Democrats in voting yes.

Trump calls resolution 'meaningless' amid Iran talks

Taking on Truth Social on Thursday, President Donald Trump ripped into Democrats for bringing an unpatriotic and meaningless resolution at a critical time when, according to Trump, the war negotiations are at the final stage.

Trump also called out 4 Republicans who, along with all Democrats, voted in favour of the resolution to force Trump to end the war, saying “they should be ashamed of themselves.”

“Yesterday, in a meaningless vote, the House voted, 4 bad Republicans and all of the Dumocrats, to limit my War Powers, right in the middle of my final negotiations to end the War with the Islamic Republic of Iran,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Four Republicans — Reps Thomas Massie (Ky), Brian Fitzpatrick (Pa), Tom Barrett (Mich) and Warren Davidson (Ohio) — joined all 211 Democrats in attendance to support the resolution.

Trump further called the supporters of the resolution unpatriotic and repeated almost similar attacks he has been making against the democrats that they are “fueled by Trump Derangement Syndrome.”

“Who would do such an unpatriotic thing. They know where the negotiations stand,” Trump added. “The Democrats are fueled by Trump Derangement Syndrome. They would rather have our Country fail than give me another, of many, victories.”

Trump said that four Republicans who voted in favour of the resolution were “grandstanders.”

Americans think decision to enter war with Iran was wrong

Trump’s decision to go to war with Iran is not popular among American citizens, as 64% of respondents to a recent New York Times/Siena College poll said that the US made the wrong decision in joining Israel in launching strikes against the Islamic Republic.

Gregory Meeks had tried to introduce the resolution in the House for a vote before the House left for its Memorial Day recess on May 21. But it was abruptly pulled from the floor when it appeared that too many Republicans were absent to defeat it.

The Senate, which is in session until the Juneteenth federal holiday, will take up the resolution next.
