Barron Trump struggling to 'fit in' as he chooses to keep a low profile on NYU campus, claim insiders

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: President Donald Trump's youngest son, Barron Trump, is struggling to fit in and opts to keep a low profile on the New York University campus, insiders told Daily Mail.
Barron has reportedly had a hard time fitting in at NYU, where he lives full-time. He moved away from his family base in Florida, like many other college students, but since he started classes in September last year, his parents moved to the White House, the Irish Star reported.

Barron Trump chooses to keep a low profile on NYU campus
Few insiders informed the Daily Mail that Barron Trump has some friends on campus and "he mostly hangs out with those friends online after school is finished."
The report by the outlet suggests that Barron "may have had a more difficult time fitting in at NYU this year than any of his fellow students."
Back in December 2024, TMZ reported that Barron was struggling to gel with his classmates.

A student who spoke to the news outlet said that Barron rarely interacts with them but asks students for their usernames on Discord so they can play online games together.
The Daily Mail source also said that Barron has a few friends on campus with whom he interacts and plays video games. His favorite game is FIFA as he is a skilled soccer player.
Moreover, the POTUS name-dropped his son during the FIFA World Cup Task Force meeting this week and said that Barron would undoubtedly be taking some time off from school to attend the games in the Summer of 2026.

Trump said, "'I have a son that loves soccer – Barron… He's a good soccer player, too."
Meanwhile, the outlet earlier spoke to one of Barron's high school classmates, who revealed that the president's son was "very mysterious."
"He never attended football games or dances. I don't think he met up with anyone outside of school or went on dates. If he had a girlfriend, it was top secret, we never knew about it," they added.
Barron Trump's unusual way to connect with college friends
Barron Trump has found a new way to stay connected with his college friends at NYU after it was revealed that the freshman is closely shadowed by the Secret Service, even in class and the restroom, with agents disguising themselves in casual attire to blend in on campus.

A few sources told Page Six that Barron has been using gaming platforms to stay in touch with friends at NYU, where he’s under constant Secret Service surveillance.
He initially used to communicate via Discord, the popular chat app for gamers, but has now expanded his digital social circle to Xbox, per the outlet.

An insider said, "He has added it to his repertoire. It’s his communication platform of choice."
Notably, Barron has struggled to socialize like a normal student because of the heavy security detail that shadows him across campus.
The source said, "He hardly exists on campus," before adding that Barron uses gaming platforms to communicate because he can’t give out his phone number for security reasons.
"It’s his workaround. He’s still troubleshooting," the source said.

The insider also mentioned that sharing his personal number "creates more trouble than it’s worth. If people get the number, they would give it out, and then a million people would be calling nonstop. You’d have to change the number constantly, and it’d become a merry-go-round."
