WASHINGTON, DC: During a virtual fundraising event for Kamala Harris, Ben Stiller made an appearance and also shared a bizarre comment about “every White Jewish guy”.

The 58-year-old actor joined the ‘Comics for Kamala’ event hosted by comedian Paul Mercurio, which also saw Whoopi Goldberg, Ed Helms, and Jon Hamm, as reported by The New York Post.

Ben Stiller dubs Kamala Harris ‘a historic candidate’

He shared, “I’m here because I’m so genuinely excited about the potential to actually win this election. What’s happened in the last couple of weeks — the turning of the tide — that Vice President Harris could actually win this thing if we all just rally around and take advantage of this incredible energy that’s happening.”

Referring to Harris, Stiller said he wants someone who is a “decent person” to run the country and someone who “cares about democracy.”

He went on to compliment the Democratic nominee for “acting like a human being” with “empathy” and “humor” before calling her “a historic candidate.”

The ‘Night at the Museum’ star said, “It’s going to be the first woman president, and that’s incredibly exciting. She’s Indian, she’s Black, she’s everything. You can be more than one thing, it’s incredible.”

Ben Stiller says ‘every white Jewish guy wishes he was Black’

Stiller did not stop there as he spoke about his heritage before making the weird remark.

He added, “I’m Jewish and Irish… I wish I was Black, every white Jewish guy wishes he was Black. You know, get out there and vote and donate and take advantage.”

Netizens call Ben Stiller a ‘clown’

Meanwhile, people have reacted online to Ben Stiller’s statement.

An X user shared, “He’s only laughing because he’s in the wealthy, protected celebrity class.”

Another user commented, “Ben Stiller auditioning for a role in ‘Spaceballs 2: The Search for More Money.’”

“But he wants to be black and still have his millions and his white and male privilege,” the third one tweeted.

The fourth user wrote, “I regret watching this clown’s movies had I know before 🤦.”

The fifth one said, “I’m Jewish and I did not find it to be a joke at all. He absolutely should apologize to the Jewish community.”

“Ben Stiller is the uncool version of Adam Sandler,” the sixth user added.

A tweet read, “NO ONE CARES about @BenStiller political opinions. Please deliver the message that he should check out TikTok to see how his approval rating is evaporating.  He needs to remember his position: hired performer.”

“I have always liked Ben Stiller. I know 99% of super-rich celebs vote Democrat but they don’t have to go down the race-bait road every time. Just mindlessly support the (D). You don’t have to do identity politics in every sentence,” another comment added.
