WASHINGTON, DC: Reports suggest that the Biden campaign has faced challenges securing donations following President Joe Biden's debate with former President Donald Trump.

NBC News indicates that contributions, particularly from major donors, may have decreased by over fifty percent this month and have decreased significantly across the board.

Joe Biden's campaign initially boasted about raising $14 million

The outlet was informed by a source close to the reelection campaign that Biden's fundraising situation is "already disastrous."

“The money has absolutely shut off,” stated an additional source close to the campaign.

The Biden campaign initially boasted about raising $14 million in funds on the day of the debate and the following morning after the 81-year-old president's June 27 confrontation with Trump, the New York Post reported.

It highlighted that the campaign experienced its best single hour of fundraising since Biden declared his re-election bid last April, occurring between 11 pm and midnight post-debate.

The campaign experienced a rapid decline in post-debate fundraising, with a source informing NBC News that the donors had a "negative" impression following a recent fundraising call with the president.

“The call seemed so contrived to people; I don’t think they buy it,” the person said.

Compounding the fundraising challenges is the uncertainty surrounding Biden's continuation in the race amid increasing calls for him to withdraw from his re-election campaign.

“You can’t reach out to someone, because someone could say, ‘Geez, I didn’t know, he has dementia',” one of Biden's top fundraisers mentioned to NBC News.

Donors anticipated a dip in Joe Biden's polling figures

The report detailing the campaign's fundraising difficulties emerged just one day before the end of the "two-week grace period" that donors had allegedly granted the president following his lackluster debate performance.

Donors anticipated a dip in Biden's polling figures after the debate; however, a continued downturn beyond the two-week mark would pose a challenge and be hard for donors to accept, according to a source familiar with a call involving major campaign contributors, as reported by New York Post earlier this month.

Oscar-winning actor George Clooney, who recently helped raise about $30 million for the president, urged Biden to withdraw from the re-election race in a New York Times op-ed published Wednesday, July 10.

He argued that the incumbent, in his eighties, "cannot win" against Trump.

Meanwhile, Lauren Hitt, a spokesperson for the campaign, refuted NBC News' report of a decline in fundraising, stating it was "not accurate."

"On grassroots fundraising, the first seven days of July were the best start to the month on the campaign — and many of those were first-time donors. On the high-dollar side, we’ve had folks max out since the debate, as well."

Internet slams Joe Biden's campaign

As soon as the news surfaced on the internet, users started reacting to it. One wrote, "He will never quit the Dems are screwed…"

Another user added, "The question is will the Biden’s going into their own money and pay for Biden campaign."

A commentator wrote, "I don’t feel sorry for this campaign, this man is doing nothing for the “Average” American!! People are living in the streets, it’s freaking shameful."

"That’s a shame," someone else remarked.

A person claimed, "The swamp is draining."
