WASHINGTON, DC: Former President Donald Trump slammed George Clooney for weighing in on the presidential election, calling President Joe Biden to drop out.

The 'Gravity' actor, who joined Biden for a fundraiser last month, shifted his stance in The New York Times op-ed on Wednesday, July 10.

Expressing his admiration for the President, Clooney acknowledged Biden's numerous victories over the past four years but remarked that he wouldn't be able to conquer the "fight against time."

Clooney noted that the Biden he saw at the fundraiser was "not the Joe big F***kng deal" but rather the same man everyone saw during the debate.

The White House responded to the actor's claims, highlighting that the octogenarian President demonstrated more stamina than the 63-year-old Clooney, who departed the June fundraiser three hours before Biden.

Donald Trump mocks George Clooney's movie career over his call for Joe Biden to step aside

Donald Trump commented on George Clooney's op-ed in a Truth Social post, seemingly supporting his successor's decision to stay in the race. Nonetheless, the real estate mogul did not hold back from his usual Biden-bashing.

"So now fake movie actor George Clooney, who never came close to making a great movie, is getting into the act," the 45th President wrote. "He's turned on Crooked Joe like the rats they both are. What does Clooney know about anything? He uses the Democrat 'talking point' that Biden, the WORST President in the history of the United States, has 'saved our Democracy.'"

Trump then attacked Biden for weaponizing law enforcement against him, causing unprecedented inflation, embarrassing the nation in Afghanistan, and implementing open border policies enabling millions of illegal immigrants' entrance into the US.

"Crooked Joe Biden didn't save our Democracy, he brought our Democracy to its knees. Clooney should get out of politics and go back to television. Movies never really worked for him!!!" Trump concluded his post.

Biden, who jeopardized his reelection bid after a disastrous debate performance last month, has been adamant about not dropping out despite many urging him to do so.

Besides Clooney's op-ed, Rep Nancy Pelosi broke her silence on the issue, stating she hoped the President would soon make a decision on his reelection race.

Similarly, Majority Leader Chuck Schumer reportedly signaled his openness to a non-Biden ticket. In addition, actor Michael Douglas joined Clooney's call for the 81-year-old incumbent's exit from the race.

Internet claims Donald Trump does not want Joe Biden to drop out

Weighing in on Trump's attack on Clooney's call for Biden's step-down, netizens argued that the former president wanted his successor to continue in the race.

"It's almost as if Trump wants Biden to stay. Imagine that?" Another quipped.

"Trump trying to keep Biden in the race is pretty funny," added a user.

"DJT Would be better off keeping quiet and letting the Dems torch themselves," read a response.

"Trump is panicking again because suddenly the prospect of Biden being replaced as nominee is very real again. Trump knows he loses easily against any other Democrat and will likely end up in jail," a user commented below Mediaite's article. [sic]

"Trump can't help himself. The very best thing for him to do right now, from a purely political strat standpoint, is to do absolutely nothing. Just stay off the radar and let the media do what they're doing to Joe Biden and let it play out. But he can't stand it. He feels like it's an affront or something. He needs his spotlight too. lol," someone else chimed in." [sic]

"What does Donald Trump know about anything? he's a fake tv show star," an individual opined. [sic]
