NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Sara Haines and Alyssa Farah Griffin explicitly stated that they find President Joe Biden incapable of defeating Donald Trump in the upcoming presidential election, on the Monday, July 8 episode of 'The View.'

They were joined by their co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Ana Navarro, and Sunny Hostin at the Hot Topics table when they shared their take, as the group discussed the incumbent's recent interviews where he made promises to continue his campaign.

Voices have been growing louder for Joe Biden to step down since his abysmal performance against Donald Trump in the first presidential debate on June 27.

Both Haines and Hostin agreed the following day, with Haines stating, "I think President Biden needs to step down and be replaced," and Griffin noting, "He needs to put country before his own ambition and he needs to step aside and pass the baton."

Sara Haines blames people close to Joe Biden for shielding him

"I will be voting for President Biden if he is on the ballot come November," Sara Haines told her co-hosts on Monday. "(But) I don't think he can win against Donald Trump as it stands right now. I just don't."

"His age and frailty were always apparent to me and they didn't concern me, probably because of who he is up against but also because I have been more happy than not of the administration," she elaborated.

"But I blame those closest to him, not the media ... because by this time, President Obama had given 570 news conferences and interviews, Trump had given 468. Biden has given 164. If they had put him out there earlier, we could have either discovered this problem with time on our hands or squelched it immediately. And that's on their hands."

Alyssa Farah Griffin's concerns with Biden-Trump rematch

Alyssa Farah Griffin, a former aide in the Trump White House, has been a vocal critic of the former President, describing him as "a threat to democracy."

"I am horrified that my party nominated an aspiring fascist, and there's one way to stop it," she said on the show. "It is in the ballot box. The Courts are not stopping Donald Trump, so it is who is running against him."

"I am starting to question if Biden recognizes how big of a threat Donald Trump actually is. As George Stephanopoulos rightly pointed out, there is no example in modern history of somebody having Biden's approval rating, having nearly 50% of his own party saying they don't want him to be the nominee, they want someone else, and 70% voters saying they are worried about his age, and going off four months later to win," Griffin added.

"I don't think you're just risking the White House to Donald Trump, I think you're risking a sweep in the House and the Senate," warned Griffin, before backing Vice President Harris as a potential nominee for the Democrats.

"Kamala Harris would perform better because I think voters felt gaslit being told Biden is sharp as a tack. I think a young, energetic Democrat running and saying that they're at the top of the ticket would actually perform better head to head," she added.
