NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: A month ago, Mehdi Hasan’s MSNBC and Peacock news show, ‘The Mehdi Hasan Show’ was canceled. Following the news, Hasan announced that he would continue with MSNBC as a “guest anchor across prime shows and beyond,” and also as an “on-air political analyst.”

However, with the commencement of the new year, it seems there has been a shift in Hasan's plans.

He recently announced on social media, stating, "I've decided to leave MSNBC." Hasan's declaration stirred up a considerable response online, with numerous reactions pouring in.

Mehdi Hasan shares ‘personal news’

On X, formerly known as Twitter, now former MSNBC anchor Mehdi Hasan wrote, “Some personal news: I've decided to leave MSBNC. New year, new plans, new challenges:”

With this, Hasan attached a clip of himself, where he said, “It’s been an absolute blast doing this live show on MSNBC for the past 3 years with an amazing team of producers behind me, and with all of you watching at home, it’s been a privilege, it’s been a pleasure.”

He continued, “But as we begin 2024 with an election coming, a war still ongoing, and too many Trump trials to even keep track of, and with this show going away, I’ve decided it’s time for me to look for a new challenge.”

“Tonight is not just my final episode of ‘the Mehdi Hasan show,’ it’s my last day with MSNBC. Yes, I’ve decided to leave. To be clear, I’m so proud, so so proud of what we’ve achieved on this show, on this network, and I can’t thank you all for tuning in and for your support and for your feedback,” expressed Hasan.

Hasan added, “But as I say, new year, new plans, you can continue to follow me online.” He then shared his socials before he concluded, “For me, for now, for one last time on this network…goodnight.”
