RICHMOND, VIRGINIA: President Joe Biden will be the guest of honor at an exclusive fundraising dinner hosted by former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in Virginia next month.

Former Virginia governor Terry McAuliffe will be hosting the June 18 event which comes just a few days following another fundraiser in Los Angeles that will feature the Democrat trio - Biden, Clinton, and Barack Obama. Actor George Clooney is hosting the event, Fox News reports.

The multi-president fundraising strategy has proven successful in the past

According to Open Secrets, Biden outraised former president Trump in the 2024 cycle, demonstrating the efficacy of the multi-president fundraising strategy. A similar program in New York raked in $26 million in a single night in New York.

The 81-year-old is now under pressure to hold onto that lead with Trump's campaign receiving $76 million in donations in April compared to Biden's $51 million.

Joe Biden is still ahead of Donald Trump when it comes to cash on hand

The fundraising totals were different in comparison to March when Biden and the DNC raised about $90 million versus $65.6 million for Trump and the RNC. Biden continues to lead Trump with $192 million in cash on hand between his campaign and affiliated committees.

Even though the current president is constantly surpassing Trump in terms of monthly fundraising, the latter's haul for April was enhanced by a record-breaking $50.5 million raised by the former president's campaign at a single event held early in the month at the Palm Beach, Florida, home of billionaire investor John Paulson.

The Biden campaign has spotlighted its small dollar donations, saying "a majority of April's raise came from grassroots donors, and one million more supporters were added to our email list in the month alone."

They also took aim at Trump, arguing that his campaign "has focused nearly entirely on courting billionaire donors, maxing out early in the cycle instead of building a durable grassroots fundraising program."

Trump's senior campaign advisors Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles highlighted their ability to raise money locally in their announcement earlier this month, stating that "with half of the funds raised coming from small dollar donors, it is clear that our base is energized." And they pledged that "we are raising the resources necessary to deliver a victory in November."

Hillary Clinton revealed why she lost the 2016 election

The former Democratic presidential contender claimed that women did not vote for her because she was "supposed to be perfect" and blamed them for her defeat in 2016. She stated that the women abandoned her after then-FBI Director James Comey reopened an investigation into her email server prior to the election.

"They left me because they just couldn’t take a risk on me, because as a woman, I’m supposed to be perfect. They were willing to take a risk on Trump — who had a long list of, let’s call them flaws, to illustrate his imperfection — because he was a man, and they could envision a man as president and commander in chief," Clinton said, according to The New York Times.

Internet terms the upcoming Clinton fundrasing dinner a 'waste of money'

Netizens were furious after the news concerning the fundraising dinner hosted by the Clintons broke out. One X user tweeted, "Waste of money," while another joked, "Instead of a m*rder mystery them, it’s gunna be a sui*ide mystery theme." "The most annoying dinner ever! Haha!" added one user.

"These people should be ashamed to show them selves in public let alone be involved in politics," opined one. "I hope they serve that lime jello mold with the mini marshmallows and meow mix in it," commented another.
