NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: On the Monday, May 13, episode of 'The View', co-host Sunny Hostin raised concerns about President Joe Biden's performance, noting that he seems to be "worse off' than former President Donald Trump in the 2020 elections, as well as Barack Obama and Bill Clinton.

Reportedly, new polls released on May 13 indicated that President Biden is lagging behind former President Trump by a significant margin in five crucial battleground states: Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, and Pennsylvania.

'The View' hosts Sunny Hostin and Alyssa Farah Griffin analyze Biden's approval ratings

Biden's current approval rating stands at 42%, marking the lowest rating for any president one term into their presidency in the past 20 years.

In comparison, former Presidents Trump, Obama, Clinton, and Bush all held higher approval ratings at this juncture in their presidencies. Notably, Trump's approval rating was 4% higher than Biden's before he ultimately lost the 2020 election.

"I'm concerned," co-host Sunny Hostin said. "When you look at these stats, it’s very clear that Biden is actually worse off now six months from the election than [Barack] Obama was and when Bill Clinton was."

As per Mediaite, the panel's discussion about the upcoming 2024 election also saw Alyssa Farah Griffin, a former Trump White House Director of Strategic Communications, criticizing the Biden campaign for downplaying concerns about the economy and inflation.

“He did an interview with Erin Burnett and he said, ‘Actually, you’re better off than you think you are.’ That’s a bad message when people’s grocery prices are up by 30%,” said Griffin, highlighting the recent interview on CNN

“You’re saying, ‘Believe me rather than what your bank account is telling you.’ He’s got six months to come up with an inspiring, forward-looking message and get out there and talk about it," she added. 

Moving on, Griffin emphasized the necessity for her peers in the media to connect with Trump supporters and discuss the potential implications of a second Trump term, highlighting its potential dangers.

She suggested, "I think that’s how we need to be using our voices and the campaign, the Biden campaign just has to get more active."

“I’m concerned like Alyssa is,” replied Hostin.

She added, "You know, when you look at these stats, it’s very clear that Biden is actually worse off now six months from the election than Obama was and when Bill Clinton was. They had disapproval ratings that were pretty high, but his are even lower, right? So that concerns me.”

Hostin concluded, saying, “I also agree it’s up to the American people, it’s not up to the polls, and we are six months away.”

The hosts' acknowledgement of apprehension regarding President Biden's prospects for reelection, citing polls that indicate he is trailing Donald Trump in crucial battleground states, evoked a mixed response from social media users.

A particular viewer expressed, "Wow.. is this a good news?"

Following suit, another observer added, "Total disaster."

A follower contributed, "The economy is a disaster."

Additionally, a viewer pointed out, "Worrying would mean thinking. Not an option on the view."

A comment underscored, "In a show of solidarity with Joe Biden the View host should wear wedding veils until the election results are declared. That’ll help!"

Another comment echoed, "Worst show in history! And a black eye for America! But now we all know what's going on! Can't hide it now."
