WASHINGTON, DC: Kremlin propagandists and the Russian state media have found an unlikely new hero in Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga), lavishing praise on the far-right congresswoman for her fierce opposition to US aid for Ukraine in its war against Russia's invasion.

CNN's Erin Burnett recently highlighted this unexpected attention from Russian media towards Greene, emphasizing how her echoing of Kremlin narratives has gained favor within Putin's propaganda machine, as per HuffPost.

"That's amazing!" Burnett exclaimed after playing a clip from Russian state television in which a presenter stated Greene's belief that Americans should "help [Russian President Vladimir] Putin win."

Burnett added, "Ever since Marjorie Taylor Greene started speaking out against helping Ukraine, Russian state television can't get enough of her."

The CNN host also referenced her recent interview with former Rep Ken Buck (R-Colo), who bluntly dubbed Greene as "Moscow Marjorie" – a moniker that has quickly caught fire online in light of the congresswoman's favorable coverage on Russian airwaves.

Greene's echoing of Kremlin talking points has drawn scathing criticism from both sides of the political spectrum, with Democrats and some notable Republicans decrying the increasing sway of Russian propaganda within the GOP.

Marjorie Taylor Greene's positive depiction on Russian media channels is not a recent development

Greene's positive depiction of Russian state-run media channels is not a recent development. In 2023, Kremlin propagandist Vladimir Solovyov floated Greene as a potential Republican presidential candidate for replacing Donald Trump, reported Newsweek.

Solovyov and Russia-1 New York correspondent Valentin Olegovich Bogdanov discussed American voters' dissatisfaction with Trump and President Joe Biden, suggesting a demand for new political figures.

"Both of these politicians have colossal anti-ratings. There is a demand in America for something new. The problem is, Trump took over this niche, but now there is [Florida Governor] Ron DeSantis, and others are coming, like Marjorie Taylor Greene, who is somewhat funny," Bogdanov remarked in a video shared by Russian Media Monitor.

Another user suggested, "Send Marjorie over to fight on the Russian front lines." A third user wrote, "Moscow Marge can leave anytime. Good riddance." Another person chimed in, stating, "Send Miss Greene with a one-way ticket to Russia."

A fifth user expressed, "MTG is an embarrassment, there is a segment of our society that confuses intelligent conversation with yelling." A sixth user commented, "MOSCOW MAJORIE. Classic. She will go down in history for all the wrong reasons."

A seventh user added, "MTG needs to be impeached and removed from her position..." An eighth user commented, "I never, never understood why MTG is breathing air at all. If she fell off the earth today OR moved to Russia NOBODY would care."
