DURHAM, NORTH CAROLINA: Former president Bill Clinton had quite a bizarre moment at a rally in North Carolina with Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, where he tried out a baffling impression of GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump.

At 78, Clinton reportedly didn’t really try to mimic Trump’s voice or signature style but aimed to make a point about how Trump might see him as a “danger within.”

Bill Clinton’s Donald Trump impression falls flat at rally

Speaking to the crowd, he referenced the presidential oath before launching into his take on Trump.

“When you sign up, the oath says you promise to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic,” Clinton began. “And he said, ‘I think I’ll start with domestic. Bring me the Army.’”

The attempt, however, wasn’t quite the hit Clinton might have hoped for. The audience offered a few chuckles, but the delivery ultimately left many scratching their heads, the New York Post reported.

“‘Now, I used to like President Clinton. I once said only he and Ronald Reagan were the great presidents since World War Two. But I’ve had a change of heart, and I think he needs to go away for a long time,’” he continued, with the crowd mostly silent.

“‘I’m not going to execute him, although I could under the Supreme Court ruling, but I think I’ll just send him to the Colorado supermax for the rest of his life,’” the ex-commander in chief said in conclusion of the bizarre parody.

“So I’ve already got a petition ready,” Clinton added. “I want him to transfer me to Guantanamo because when you’re 78, you’re a lot more worried about being too cold than too hot.”

Internet has a field day with Bill Clinton's awkward impression of Donald Trump

The internet wasn’t too kind about Bill Clinton’s attempt at humor with his bizarre impression of Donald Trump. Many social media users commented on how awkward it seemed and some even questioned the former president's well-being.

"Billy don’t look too good," one social media user posted on X.

"I truly think Bill is not well," another commented.

"I think he's gotten the Biden brain thingy," someone else chimed in.

"Ouch, I couldn’t keep watching it, cringy. That dude is not looking good…why do they keep trotting those Clintons out?" read one comment.

"It’s almost sad seeing how pathetic a figure Bill Clinton has become," one person added.

Bill Clinton's recent bizarre moments

Bill Clinton’s odd Donald Trump impression came just days after another strange incident while eulogizing the late Ethel Kennedy. During her funeral in Washington, DC, the former president made a curious comment about Robert Kennedy's widow.

"I thought your mother was the cat’s meow," Bill said about the late 96-year-old. "She would flirt with me in the most innocent ways."

The remark was met with some cautious laughs from those in attendance, but it certainly raised a few eyebrows.

He went on to make a joke about Ethel’s 11 children, recalling a conversation where he told her, “You know we’re not at replacement population anymore and all the politics are anti-immigrant, what are we gonna do?” Clinton joked, before adding, "We need more people like you."

The whole speech had a rather quirky tone. And while some might have seen it as endearing, others found it a bit odd for a funeral setting.

And if that wasn’t enough, Clinton had yet another head-scratching moment recently when he waded into the ongoing debate over immigration.

The former president suggested that Georgia nursing student Laken Riley would still be alive if border security had been tighter. This was perceived as a slight against the Joe Biden-Kamala Harris administration's handling of the border crisis.

"You had a case in Georgia not very long ago, didn't you? They made an ad about it, a young woman who had been killed by an immigrant. Yeah, well, if they'd all been properly vetted that probably wouldn't have happened. But if they’re all properly vetted, that doesn’t happen," he said.
