Bill Maher quips Republicans ‘lost their mojo’ after Kamala Harris entered presidential race
WASHINGTON, DC: Bill Maher resumed his 'Real Time With Bill Maher' show this Friday, August 23, after the annual summer break, launching into a monologue that tackled the wild political happenings that transpired during his one-month absence.
His analysis covered various topics, offering insights into the major changes and debates that have influenced the current political dialogue.
Bill Maher praises transition from Joe Biden to Kamala Harris
Bill Maher particularly praised the Democrats for their handling of the transition from Joe Biden to Kamala Harris as the 2024 nominee, jokingly commenting, “What can happen in a month? I mean, a month ago, the Democrats were so resigned to going into battle with the skeletal remains of Joe Biden."
"And now, you know, they’re ecstatic because they have this youngish, hottish — it’s like a rom-com: ‘You were there all along. We just didn’t see.’”
He also observed the impact of Harris' lead in the polls on her opponent, Donald Trump, “I mean, Trump has been petty and vindictive, lying and whining. So, no change.”
“One month ago. It was just a month ago,” Maher continued. “Our last show, Joe Biden was saying ‘the Lord Almighty’ would have to tell him to step down. And then the Lord Almighty knocked on the door and said, ‘Joe, it’s me: Nancy Pelosi.’”
Maher gave Democrats credit for accomplishing "what they never do."
"They immediately got into order. They came together. Joe out, Kam in," he said.
Maher adding that selecting Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as Harris' running mate was a good decision due to his appeal to "red state White guys".
“It’s like coaxing a cat that’s under the car, you know — like, ‘Come on out. It’s OK. I’ve got an old White guy with me'," Maher joked.
Bill Maher jokes about rumors of Beyonce performing at DNC
Bill Maher also talked about the Democratic National Convention that concluded recently. He joked, “The message was, we’re a normal political party. We’re not great. We’re a Corolla. Not great."
Maher spoke about the widespread rumors circulated—and some media outlets even claimed confirmation from sources—that Beyonce would make an appearance before Kamala Harris' acceptance speech on the final night of the DNC on August 22, The Wrap reported.
However, this did not happen and the origins of the rumors remain unclear.
However, Maher remained optimistic, observing how, “the difference between the Democrats and the Republicans is that Democrats were disappointed when Beyonce didn’t show up, and the Republicans were disappointed when Hulk Hogan did.”
He added, “I’m sorry, Republicans — a month ago, you had it in the bag. Now you’ve lost your mojo. I mean, today, JD Vance’s couch said, ‘Not tonight.’”
Internet slams Bill Maher's humorous take on political events

The third commentator remarked, "Sad he decides to use this material at this point."
"Sometimes it seems like you can see through the dog of propaganda, Bill. Other times, like this, I just feel sorry for you. Take off the blinders," one said.
