NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Blue Ivy stunned in a strapless gown as she made her debut at the Met Gala 2026 alongside her famous parents — Beyonce and Jay-Z

But while making a statement all her own, the teenager also reportedly defied one of the major rules of the annual haute couture fundraising festival.

Blue Ivy matches her footwear with her mother's gown

The 14-year-old chose a cream bubble-hem strapless gown by Balenciaga for the A-lister event. She also matched her heels with her mother’s embellished skeleton-inspired dress. And to add sparkle to her look, she added a diamond riviere necklace, rings, and a hand chain.

Blue Ivy completed her look by pairing her beautiful dress with a cropped bomber jacket. But she wore it just off her shoulders. A pair of cat-eye sunglasses added more glam to her overall appearance.

Blue Ivy attended Met Gala despite being 14 due to one condition

She was one of the youngest people to attend the Met Gala this year, despite the event’s rule that people under the age of 18 cannot attend.

For example, in 2018, Maddie Ziegler could not attend because at the time, she was underage.

She even told The Hollywood Reporter, “I can’t go, because I’m not old enough!” Also, organizers of the event confirmed that the rule was made because “it’s not an appropriate event for people under 18.”

However, it was also made clear at the time that people under 18 can attend the event with their parents.

Nicole Kidman's daughter Sunday joined her mother for Met Gala

Blue Ivy was one of the exceptions of this year’s special night as her mother was a co-chair of the event alongside Nicole Kidman, Lauren Sanchez Bezos, and Anna Wintour.

Another under-18 person who attended the Met Gala was Kidman’s daughter, Sunday Rose Urban.

Kidman looked stunning in a Chanel red sequin long-sleeve gown while her teenage daughter looked extremely beautiful in a feathered peplum as well as feathered cuffs by Dior.

Nicole Kidman excited to bring her daughter, Sunday

The actress added more bling by wearing diamond earrings from Chanel and colorful oversized cocktail rings. She completed her look by donning a 1982 style Omega “Manhattan” watch made of 18-karat white and yellow gold, along with 224 diamonds.

In March, the ‘Babygirl’ star shared her excitement on the ‘Las Culturistas’ podcast. She said, “I’m so, so happy, and my daughter Sunday will be coming. She loves fashion.”

“She’s actually just walked the Dior show. Yeah, she’s flying back from Paris now. It’s her own, whole world and it’s incredible,” Kidman, who also shares Faith, 15, with ex-husband Keith Urban, added.
