Brad Sherman shredded as he claims DNC delegates have power to overrule Joe Biden’s nomination
WASHINGTON, DC: Rep Brad Sherman (D-CA) declared on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, July 5, that delegates to the Democratic National Convention have the authority to take President Joe Biden off the ticket if they so want, as per Raw Story.
This comes as Biden, battling the aftermath of a lackluster debate performance and rumors of his replacement among some Democratic leaders, continues to insist he is staying in the race and ramps up his public appearances and interviews.

Sherman wrote on X, "I look forward to seeing President Biden’s taped interview with George Stephanopoulos. It’s important that the President also have an extended LIVE interview as soon as possible."

He added, "Counter to popular belief, the rules of the Democratic Party do NOT require that pledged delegates vote for Biden at the convention. Party rules require delegates’ votes, 'reflect the sentiments of those who elected them,' at the time the delegates cast their ballots. Democratic Primary voters have one overarching sentiment: We need a candidate who will beat Donald Trump."

Notably, Sherman makes a point in his post, although it's uncertain if it's right. Due to criticism of the nomination process in previous years, DNC leaders opted to limit the influence of so-called 'superdelegates', who might now vote against the primary voters' decision.

Another mentioned, "Well, aren't you just a spineless little sellout. I'm sure Trump appreciates your support. This Californian will definitely remember you, and not in a good way."

One user said, "If you do that you will lose the election. That is exactly what the Republicans intend. Be brave, be strong, be true. Do not abandon women, children and the vulnerable now."
A comment read, "Sherman would’ve been wise not to say this. Remember: Trump’s big lie about 2020 was that Democrats rigged the election against him, because he couldn’t accept that 81 million voters didn’t want him to remain in office for a second term."
A person added, "It's the same way that Trump talks about the Roe issue. He keeps saying let it go to the states so the people can decide & blah blah blah."
