‘Bring her home’: Savannah Guthrie’s heartbreaking plea amid search for missing mom Nancy
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: NBC host, Savannah Guthrie shared a heartbreaking new social media post as the search for her missing mother, Nancy Guthrie, enters its fourth month.
The 84-year-old was allegedly kidnapped from her Arizona home in early February, and police are still looking for answers.
Savannah shares emotional message
Savannah Guthrie on Sunday, June 7, posted an emotional message on her Instagram Stories about her mother, Nancy Guthrie.
The post showed a painting of Jesus going to heaven with the words, "Oh my, my soul it cries out, soul, it cries out."
Savannah also wrote her own short message on the picture, "Bring her home," with a small yellow heart.
Police earlier provided an update on the investigation
It is to be noted that no suspects have been named yet, but Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos gave an update on May 12, saying his department and the FBI are “working hard to get this resolved.”
The sheriff feels hopeful about the progress, saying, “I think every day they get closer.”
However, analyzing the clues takes time, and he explained, “There’s way too much work to be done, that is ongoing, with some of the physical evidence we have,” which likely refers to mixed DNA found at the house that labs are still testing to find a suspect.
Guthrie family thanks their community
Savannah has frequently spoken out to keep people looking for her mother, while she shared that same religious painting back in March with the words, “I believe, I believe.”
The day before that post, Savannah, her siblings Annie and Camron, and their spouses released a statement to thank the public.
Speaking to KVOA News 4 Tucson for a special program called 'Bring Her Home: The Disappearance of Nancy Guthrie,' the family said, "We are deeply grateful for the outpouring from neighbors, friends and the people of Tucson. We are all family now. We continue to believe it is Tucsonans, and the greater southern Arizona community, that hold the key to finding resolution in this case."
Savannah's emotional mother's day message
Earlier, on Mother's Day, Savannah had posted a video filled with clips of her mother.
In the caption, Savannah wrote, “Mother, daughter, sister, Nonie — we miss you with our every breath. We will never stop looking for you. We will never be at peace until we find you.”
She concluded the post by asking the public for any information that could help, writing, “We need help. Someone knows something that can make the difference. Call 1800CALLFBI. You can be anonymous, and the reward remains available. Please keep praying. Bring her home."
