NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Savannah Guthrie is reportedly refusing to give up hope as the search for her missing mother, Nancy Guthrie, stretches into its fourth month with no arrests, no suspects, and still no answers.

According to a new report from Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice Substack published Tuesday, May 26, the host has now hired private investigators, former federal agents, and security specialists to continue searching for her 84-year-old mother after growing frustrated with the pace of the official investigation.

Savannah Guthrie expands search for missing mother

Sources close to the situation said Savannah is now personally funding the expanded effort and is willing to spend whatever it takes to bring her mother home.

“Savannah is paying whatever it takes to keep this search active,” a source told Shuter. “She refuses to rely solely on law enforcement.”

As the investigation drags on, insiders claimed Savannah has become increasingly disappointed with how slowly the case appears to be moving. “She expected urgency and direct communication. Instead, she feels the investigation became distant and procedural,” the insider said.

“Money doesn’t matter to her right now. This is about finding her mother,” sources told Shuter. “If more investigators, more security, or more resources help, she’ll keep paying for them.”

Nancy was first reported missing on February 1 after friends noticed she failed to attend a scheduled church service. Authorities later confirmed she had been abducted from her home against her will.

The Guthrie family later announced a $1 million reward for information leading to Nancy’s recovery. Despite the growing attention surrounding the case, no suspects have publicly been identified.

Savannah Guthrie still hopes for ‘a miracle’

Even with months passing and few public breakthroughs, Savannah has continued holding onto hope that her mother could still be found alive. “She still believes her mom can be found. That’s why the private investigators are still working every single day,” the source added.

At the same time, Savannah has also publicly acknowledged the painful uncertainty surrounding the situation.

In an emotional video statement shared earlier in the investigation, the NBC host admitted her family is preparing emotionally for multiple possibilities while still praying for answers.

“She may have already gone home to the Lord that she loves and is dancing in heaven with her mom and her dad and with her beloved brother, Pierce, and with our Daddy,” Savannah said.

“And if this is what is to be, then we will accept it. But we need to know where she is. We need her to come home.”

DNA evidence may crack Nancy Guthrie case

While investigators have remained largely tight-lipped about the case, officials have hinted that forensic evidence may eventually provide key answers.

According to reports, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos recently revealed that authorities are getting closer to identifying whose blood was discovered on Nancy Guthrie’s property.

Nanos reportedly said forensic teams working on DNA analysis are making progress, raising hopes that investigators may soon uncover a significant lead in the disappearance.

So far, however, officials have not announced whether the blood belongs to a suspect, an associate, or someone connected to the abduction. That uncertainty has only deepened public fascination with the case, especially as disturbing theories and unanswered questions continue to circulate online.
