LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Britney Spears has revealed that she hopes to one day share her side of what happened during her March DUI arrest in a since-deleted Instagram caption shared alongside a video of herself twirling in a blue dress on Thursday, July 30.

The singer reflected on the experience, calling it one of the hardest moments of her life and suggesting the public has only heard part of the story. The post also included a message about personal healing, spirituality and gratitude.

Britney Spears opens up about DUI arrest and teases future revelations

In the now-deleted Instagram caption, Spears wrote that she has "felt extremely protected" lately, adding that it may be because of "past trauma." She described her arrest as "probably the scariest and hardest experience of my life."

She was charged with a misdemeanor DUI after police reportedly caught her swerving "in and out of lanes" and "speeding" in California on March 4. Ventura County Police claimed she "showed signs of impairment" and had unknown pills with her at the time before taking her to the police station for a field sobriety evaluation.

According to her, however, the public does not know the complete story. "Maybe I can tell you what really happened one day in a VOLUME 2 book," she wrote, adding, "I’m an extremely strong woman, and what happened, let’s just say again, nothing is what it seems!"

Spears also described feeling a major spiritual transformation following the incident. "I feel like a huge spiritual shift in my body and my room alone," she wrote, adding, "I literally feel my ancestors and angels have been with me ever since then."

The 'Toxic' singer also mentioned her mother, Lynne Spears, writing, "And Mom, I'm so happy to be alive!!! I'm so god happy I have a little message for you!"

Days earlier, on Wednesday, Spears had hinted at taking a step back from social media as she focused on being kinder to herself. She further wrote, "I haven’t been posting that much. I dance for myself lately, and I’ve hurt my foot twice. I’m learning to be kinder to myself. I’m thinking of starting a cool business making soap and candles and quitting IG."

Britney Spears addresses freeway photos as legal case concludes

Spears' latest comments come after she responded to concern over photos showing her standing through the sunroof of a black Mercedes SUV while traveling on Los Angeles' 101 Freeway near Studio City on July 8.

Reacting to the images on Instagram on July 11, she wrote, "What people see is two seconds of insanity of me arching me to the lords! yet the days and hours of my reality! Nothing is what it seems. Psss I think I need to come out of the roof quite a bit more."

Photos published by the Daily Mail and Page Six showed Spears stretching her arms across the roof and leaning back while traffic reportedly moved at around 45 miles per hour. Witnesses said she remained through the sunroof for about two minutes before the SUV, driven by a man wearing a cowboy hat and sunglasses, exited the freeway.

Spears, who was wearing a tan minidress, was later seen at a gas station after traveling from her home. A source told the Daily Mail that she had only briefly gone through the sunroof to see why traffic had stopped and said "used to do this all the time as a kid growing up in the South," adding that she "didn't mean to do anything bad."

The traffic incident followed reports about Spears' behavior during a May dinner at Blue Dog Tavern, where TMZ alleged she was "screaming," "barking" and carrying a knife. Her representative denied those claims, saying she had simply been telling a story about her dog while cutting her hamburger and that the reports were "completely blown out of proportion."

Meanwhile, Spears' DUI case has since concluded. She pleaded guilty to a "wet reckless" on May 4 after the DUI charge was reduced and the misdemeanor count of driving under the influence of an illegal substance was dismissed.
