LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Britney Spears revealed an unexpected career idea, telling fans in a lengthy Instagram post on Sunday, July 26, that she is considering stepping away from Instagram to pursue it.

She also reflected on being kinder to herself, shared moments from her summer, and opened up about recovering from a foot injury. The update comes months after her DUI arrest earlier this year, which was followed by probation and a stint in rehab.

Britney Spears shares new business plans and summer updates

Spears told followers she has been focusing on self-care while thinking about a different career path. "I’m learning to be kinder to myself," the Grammy-winning singer wrote. "[And] I’m thinking of starting a cool business making soap and candles and quitting IG. If you know me, I’m actually a real nerd and I get fascinated with the smallest things."

Alongside the message, Spears shared photos and videos from her summer, including what she described as "silly footage" of herself making "a stain glass lamp." She noted that the clip did not include the finished product or "the blowing machine that melts it."

The 'Toxic' singer also posted videos of herself dancing in a red dress and relaxing on a boat in a light green bikini. Explaining why she has not been posting as frequently, Spears said she had injured her foot twice.

"I dance for myself lately and I’ve hurt my foot twice," she wrote.

Spears also shared a picture of specialty socks she had been wearing while recovering, "If your feet are symbolic to your soul, take care of them… God speed and awaken them, yet then know when to be selfish and take care of yourself."

The post concluded with a picture of her on a boat alongside a friend whose face she concealed, as well as scenic views from her summer getaway. Earlier in the week, she also hinted at another change by teasing a colorful hairstyle.

Although known for her blonde hair, she uploaded a photo featuring straight hair with green, red, blue, yellow, black and pink patterns. She wrote, "I wanna make people feel comfortable and safe and inspired and I'm getting excited by this new look I can't wait."

Britney Spears reflects on life after DUI arrest as sons continue supporting her

Spears' latest update follows a series of personal developments after she was arrested on suspicion of DUI on March 4. She later pleaded guilty through her lawyer, Michael Goldstein, during an arraignment at Ventura County Superior Court, while not appearing in person.

The singer received 12 months of probation, was ordered to complete a three-month alcohol and substance education programme, fined $571, instructed to see a psychologist once a week and a psychiatrist twice a month, and ordered not to consume alcohol or illicit substances other than prescription medication.

Following the arrest, Spears voluntarily checked herself into the Borden Cottage rehabilitation facility in Maine. According to a source quoted by the Daily Mail, her sons played a key role in encouraging her to seek treatment.

It said, "The boys started to get involved. They're the only ones she listens to, and they were so loving, so kind, but also so firm. This was non-negotiable to them." Earlier this month, she also made headlines after being seen climbing through the sunroof of a moving Mercedes SUV on the busy 101 freeway.

Meanwhile, Spears' sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, recently made their runway debut during the Vetements Menswear Spring/Summer 2027 show at Paris Fashion Week. Although Spears was not present, Jayden told Vogue that his mother remained closely involved from afar.

He said Spears sent flowers to their hotel, repeatedly called and texted them before the show, and encouraged them by saying, "Yeah, you guys are my sons. You've got this."
