LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Nearly a month after being arrested for allegedly driving under the influence near her Southern California residence, Britney Spears has reportedly checked herself into a rehabilitation facility.

A representative for the pop star reportedly confirmed to Fox News Digital that she has voluntarily decided to enter into treatment following the alleged DUI incident.

Source claims Britney Spears realized she hit ‘rock bottom’

According to TMZ, Spears decided to enter rehab due to her alleged battle with substance abuse. Sources told the publication that people in the singer’s close circles had been urging her to consider treatment before she finally decided to check herself in.

“She realizes she hit rock bottom,” one insider told TMZ. Meanwhile, another source claimed that Spears is going to allegedly strengthen her position on the pending DUI case with her decision. “She knows strategically this will look good in front of the judge -- that she's taking it seriously,” they stated.

The publication also reported that the ‘Toxic’ hitmaker checked into a rehab facility somewhere in the US. While the length of the stay is undetermined, standard programs usually last around 30 days.

However, Spears might extend her stay beyond a month if it is necessary for her recovery. The outlet also reported that Spears’ son and close ones are supporting her decision. No other details about her potential care have been shared so far.

Britney Spears’ representative said she would take the ‘right steps’ after alleged DUI arrest

Spears was arrested on alleged DUI charges in Ventura County, California, on March 4, 2026, after she was reportedly spotted speeding her vehicle while traveling southbound on U.S. 101.

The California Highway Patrol allegedly followed Spears along the freeway and other streets in the greater Los Angeles area before safely pulling her over. Officials also conducted a string of field sobriety tests, but her chemical test results are yet to be made available.

Reports suggest that Spears allegedly showed signs of impairment during the incident. As per reports obtained by Fox News Digital, the singer was released around 6:07 AM the morning after her arrest.

"This was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable," a representative of Spears told Fox News Digital following the incident. “Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law, and, hopefully, this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life,” they added.

“Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time. Her boys are going to be spending time with her. Her loved ones are going to come up with an overdue needed plan to set her up for success for well-being,” the rep shared at the time.

Spears is reportedly expected to appear in court May 4.
