Brooklyn Beckham says mom Victoria refused to help his wife save displaced dogs after LA fires
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Brooklyn Beckham on Sunday, January 19, said that his mother Victoria Beckham refused to help his wife save displaced dogs following devastating wildfires in the Los Angeles area.
The claim came as part of a series of explosive Instagram Stories by Victoria and David Beckham's eldest son.
In these social media revelations, Brooklyn has accused his parents of being controlling, dishonest and prioritizing "Brand Beckham" over family.
The model's claim about Victoria's refusal to help canines has drawn much attention (and mixed reactions) online.
Brooklyn exposes Victoria for refusing support to animals
Through Instagram, Brooklyn made public some private family disagreements and severed ties with his family.
He began by outlining what he describes as the intense expectations his parents put on him, particularly in maintaining the family's public image.
Brooklyn, who lives in Los Angeles with his wife Nicola Peltz, claimed that he and Nicola have "gone out of our way for years" to show up for events that his parents considered important.
Despite being present "at the expense of [their] professional obligations", Brooklyn claims David and Victoria did not reciprocate the sentiment.
"The one time my wife asked for my mum's support to save displaced dogs during the LA fires, my mum refused."
Brooklyn appears to be referencing a favor his wife had asked of his mother in a bid to save the lives of canines that had been affected by the January 2025 Southern California wildfires.
Nicola Peltz is a known advocate for dogs
Nicola has long been known to stand up for dogs.
Back in June 2024, she and Brooklyn lost their Chihuahua, Nala. The pet had suffered a sudden medical emergency following a visit to a groomer.
The dog, who had been healthy beforehand, emerged from the grooming session hyperventilating. Just hours after a trip to the groomer, Nala was gone.
Two weeks later, Nicola took action. She sued the groomer for animal abuse and told PEOPLE she’s determined to fight for new laws.
Brooklyn severs ties with Beckham family
Brooklyn's bombshell claims about his parents come amid reports of a longstanding rift in the family.
Throughout his six-slide message, Brooklyn accused David and Victoria of being chronically controlling, causing his wife Nicola undue distress ahead of their wedding, trying to sabotage their relationship and rejecting any of Brooklyn and Nicola's attempts to reconcile.
"I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life. I grew up with overwhelming anxiety," Brooklyn wrote.
"For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared. I wake up every morning grateful for the life I chose, and have found peace and relief," he continued.
He added, "My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press, or manipulation. All we want [is] peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family."
In May 2025, PEOPLE had cited an insider as saying "The relationship is definitely not beyond repair."
"They(David and Victoria) love and are always there for [Brooklyn]. They’re just hurt and disappointed that he’s now playing no part in family life," the source had said.
However, in the latest statement on social media, the couple's eldest child said he had no wish to reconcile with his parents.
