Brooklyn Beckham says Victoria Beckham canceled Nicola Peltz’s wedding dress at last minute
LONDON, ENGLAND: Brooklyn Beckham has publicly reignited long-running speculation about tensions within the Beckham family, alleging that his mother, fashion designer Victoria Beckham, abruptly pulled out of making his wife Nicola Peltz Beckham’s wedding dress just before their 2022 wedding.
The allegation surfaced in a candid Instagram Stories post on Monday, in which Brooklyn addressed his estrangement from his parents and accused them of interfering in his marriage. His comments have drawn renewed attention to a controversy that both he and Nicola had previously downplayed in interviews following their high-profile nuptials.

Brooklyn Beckham alleges last-minute cancellation of wedding dress
In his post, Brooklyn claimed that his mother canceled the dress project at the “eleventh hour,” leaving Nicola scrambling to find an alternative gown shortly before the ceremony.
“My parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn’t stopped,” Brooklyn wrote.
“My mum cancelled making Nicola’s dress in the eleventh hour, despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress.”
Brooklyn also accused his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, of prioritizing “public promotion and endorsements above all else,” further deepening the rift he described.”
Brooklyn and Nicola married in April 2022 at her parents’ Palm Beach estate in Florida. Nicola ultimately wore a custom Valentino Haute Couture gown, later telling Vogue that selecting the fashion house “was a no-brainer.”
Earlier public statements denied feud over dress
Brooklyn’s new claims stand in stark contrast to earlier public remarks from both him and Nicola, who had repeatedly denied that any conflict existed over the wedding dress.
In a November 2022 interview with Variety, Nicola explained that the situation was due to logistical challenges rather than personal tension.
“I was going to wear Victoria Beckham and I really wanted to and then a few months down the line, she realized that her atelier couldn’t do it, so then I had to pick another dress,” Nicola said.
“She didn’t say you can’t wear it; I didn’t say I didn’t want to wear it. That’s where it started, and then they ran with that.”
Brooklyn echoed those sentiments at the time, saying media coverage had exaggerated the situation and insisting that “everyone gets along.”
Insider accounts suggest behind-the-scenes strain
Despite those denials, a family insider told People in May 2025 that Victoria initially agreed to design the dress but later informed Nicola’s mother that she would not be able to follow through.
“Nicola was painted as a brat for not wearing Victoria Beckham at the wedding,” the insider said, adding that Nicola had regularly supported Victoria’s brand by wearing her designs and attending her fashion shows.
Brooklyn’s recent Instagram post also included broader allegations surrounding the wedding, claiming his parents attempted to pressure him into “signing away the rights” to his name ahead of the ceremony, signaling deeper fractures within the famous family.
